Title: mytaxi Hospitality Charge
Post by: Rat Catcher on October 31, 2017, 11:09:52 am
We seem to be handing over our hard earned for a lot of mickey mouse work e.g.

Avis Car Return Shed (I think it was Avis, mighta been one of the others)
Kealy's Roadhouse
Peacock's Public Bar, River Valley
The Manor Inn, Swords Manor

I find it hard to believe that Anthony Kelly was paying for this work, particularly the shite from Peacock's or The Manor. Is it the same all over the city or have mytaxi targeted C2k?

Many just ignore those jobs unless they have a decent destination on them.I've accepted them by accident then cancelled shortly afterwards.Just write not paying for hotel work in the text bar.

They should really reign in thier sales teams from chasing shite work that just clogs up the app during busy periods.

I generally ignore them myself. I've just noticed the bed logo on Peacock's and The Manor but haven't covered them. I covered the Avis? one and a couple from Kealy's while chasing bonuses.

They have some pubs I wouldn’t have a beer in.

They have a few rough shops up above in Dublin too but they're not subject to the hospitality charge.

Am I reading the app instruction wrong ?If it says did you add the hospitality I would just add it to the pick up charge as well if the customer asks tell them to take it up with the venue .

You may not charge more than the maximum metered fare. Your customers would be best advised to take it up with NTA.

Interesting Rodent but Im not sure what private treaty exists between the customer /App provider /Venue  If such an occasion arose I would just input my agreed charges as per fare card and would assume that the instruction to add the other was not part of the fare but some sort of private arrangement between consenting parties where I was asked to act as an honest broker as I recieve no part of this extra payment or incur no commission on same I was labouring under the misapprehension that this was an agreed stipend applied for services rendered by non taxi driving consenting third parties for a bespoke service .

They're asking everyone if they want a taxi with their pint now that they get €2 for pressing a button, MfH!

The instruction you get from mytaxi is to add €2 on the meter, erm. You have to confirm that you have done that hence they are placing the ball firmly in your court. Incidentally, you cannot charge the customer any more than is displayed on your meter.

Rodent I dont cover jobs with little bed Icons and If I was instructed to add the hospitality charge depending on the destination and the value of the fare I probably would but would then avoid that venue in future .

Venues need to be carefull .Some years ago a lot of local drivers worked the Red Cow you would rank up inside .The Manager got enveloped and one night after waiting about 20 minutes the Gotcheeeeee in the carpark came over to us and said if we were not with Premier to get out Since then most taxi drivers from Ballyfermot or Clondalkin wont go near the place even driving by empty ..Now they have a problem getting cars for both Venue and Hotel Customers its so bad that there are 4 different locations on the app for the venue to try and fool drivers into covering the kip .Fox and Geese ,Beach Road ,Naas Road ,Red Cow ..Once drivers get pissed off handing over their salaries for work those venues will be bycotted .

Suffice it to say that the erm's desire to debate contract law at length would be unlikely to progress beyond a slurred "heres a fiver now fuck off while you still have windys in your car".

Finches if the barman apps a car the lads are not waiting on it they just jump in to the next one that approaches the roundabout same with boomers .If the address pops up hit the accelerator and beat the lad covering the job to the bounty .Seen It one night in the CIE club place was hopping so I popped in and out lad working it with me was dropping local then taking another job from the venue off the app while the carpark was full of paying passengers .

If this case went to court then I would rather be the prosecutor than the defender.
Maximum fares apply, that's it !

When did I ever knock Cork Northsiders Deboy ?

If anything then I saluted the women of the Northside
and paid big tribute to them in my published work.

Just because people live in council houses don’t make them scum.

I'm sure they couldn't give a flying fukk what he calls them. They're the ones laughing at the rest of us working to pay bankers and developers while they collect 4 figure sums on the first Tuesday off every month.

Don’t matter how much money you make your still entitled to the Childers on the first Tuesday.
Just because they live in a disadvantaged area do not mean they are “Kounts”
Lot of good people living in council estates.

Those that qualify for council houses tend to be those that have enough Childers to collect 4 figures. 2.4 Childers gets the average mortgage paying mug a little over 3 ton.
