"None of the defendants attended the hearing or co-operated with the National Roads Authority (NRA), which the judge described as an aggravating factor."

None of the 11 accused turned up in court which suggests that there is still a lot of Play left in this.
Maybe a day or Two in de Joy is better than a 15K fine ?

I wonder were they fooled into believing some solvent sprayed over the number plate renders them invisible to cameras, I did hear some such nonsense.

I hate road tolls with a passion, I believe that the Motor tax should cover the road toll.

An Albanian colleague of mine once told me this trick on road tolls, which I always use,
"After dropping in your coins, put your hand in to the 'Rejected Coins' slot and usually
there will be about a Euro or Two's worth of rejected coins in the tray".

it says taxi owner and not taxi driver.
Maybe she rented her car to a dreg and they ran up the bill.
the registered owner is ultimately responsible to pick up the tab.

The last time I pulled that trick was with 3 Muck savages late one Sunday night on the way to Fermoy,
the banter in the cab was fierce with the 3 of them bantering me as to being a City Boy.
There was 3 of them and only One of me, which left them slightly out-numbered !

As we approach the Toll booth, One lad hands me a Two Euro coin to pay fer the 1.90 Toll,
I drop in the coin and root about in the 'Rejected Coins' tray.
The fella in the front shouts; "Naw Bey, Ya get No Change er Bey !",
I drive on and then open miz paw to my passenger to show him the 1.70 that I had
taken from the Rejected Coins tray saying pleasantly to him; "City Boy, Huh !".

No record I know of, that she currently owns, or rents a taxi.
