This is a real article from the indo .....A well-known Irish sports star has assaulted a close associate of a senior Kinahan cartel henchman in a south Dublin pub.
During the row, a man in his 50s with close links to convicted drug dealer Graham 'The Wig' Whelan (35) was punched.
Gardaí are aware of the incident, which happened on Sunday night, but no complaint has yet been made.
It is understood the sports star attempted to assault another young man in the pub, when Whelan's associate attempted to intervene before being punched twice in the face.
This man, aged in his late 50s, has been described as a "completely innocent" individual who has no involvement in criminality.
The sports star is also understood to have punched another young man once in the head during the melee.
This individual was then ushered out of the pub and was driven away from the scene.
While gardaí are aware of what happened, officers are not investigating the case as they have not received a complaint on the matter.
"There is no report on this matter and no complaint from any injured parties, patrons of the pub or the pub itself and no statements were taken," a senior source said.
Gardaí believe the incident is linked to another alleged assault carried out by the sports star earlier this month.

Southside???? Can't me mad Diarmo from the Dubs then. Has to be a rugger bugger or one of the Paralympic ski-team. Bottle of smoke.....the assailant hopes. Well known boxer bate 7 shades of excrement out of another so-called hardman in the Green Lizard 20 odd yrs ago. He had to make reparations.

Amazing piece of journalism somebody somewhere did something to someone .The only name used in the piece is somebody who wasent there .This is just a prelude piece just in case this sportsman gets 303ed and the Indo can then write we told you this lad was on the hit list .Its shocking journalism .It harps back to the Sunday World days of giving nicknames to people they wanted jailed or killed I can see the headline now .SPORTSMAN PAYS PENALTY FOR BAR ROOM BRAWL .

In fairness, The Times of Ireland reported the alleged assault of a well known journo by a Kerry footballer-cum-male model back in the day...so swings and roundabouts. The Indo tends in general to stick to articles on female health and "wellness" and tantric dildo usage etc.
-
It might sound trivial but the Indo have taken over from the Sunday World writing about crime without naming names or identifying who ,what or where .Then when somebody is shot murdered or maimed they trumpet that they told us all about it in advance with some cryptic message . That article could of been written differently .Sporty looking male strikes drinker .Thats the story .Then follow it up with blazing headlines MAGGIE FROM THE REARDONS HAS DIED .

If true, and I thought he was smart considering the dosh he's earned, then he's not going to hold on to that hard-earned too long. He would be supremely fit and battle-hardened so can't see too many gargle-fuelled businessmen getting involved in a dispute.

Paul Williams Claims That Conor McGregor Could Be In "Very Serious Danger"
https://www.balls.ie/newsnow/conor-mcgregor-rumours-378608 (https://www.balls.ie/newsnow/conor-mcgregor-rumours-378608)
I have to say about this, and I'm wearing my old, veteran crime reporter hat. Conor McGregor is in a very dangerous place at the moment. He has come into conflict through probably no fault of his own, with a group of very, very dangerous people who are tied up with the Kinahans. These people do not care who Conor McGregor is, what he stands for, how powerful he is, they will drag him down into the cesspit.
I would say, in the next 48 hours, if he still in the country - and I understand that he may have left the country - but if he is still in the country, I understand from my sources that the Garda will be approaching him to give him a GIM form, which is a Garda Information Message, to tell him that there may be threats to his safety. This is a huge story, and imagine what it would do to our reputation if this national sporting icon is attacked by a bunch of gangsters.

saw the news there earlier on.
the itinerant turned up to court for a speeding fine with some hanger on.
both of them wearing trackies and runners.
scum of the earth.
-
Was he convicted? He should realise that many view him as a role model and drive responsibly or hire a driver who's capable of obeying the rules of the road.

No mention of penalty points... are they only for the poor?
Quote:
The judge asked McGregor how much he earned and said: "It may seem a stupid question but please do not tell me you made €110 million in a day."
McGregor laughed and there was laughter in the court when he replied €140m.
The judge convicted him and fined him €400 with two months to pay.
There was more laughter when she said that he could pay by installments.
The judge also said: "In spite of your good fortune, I would ask you to take cognisance of others on the road and slow down."

Like him or loathe him, you can be sure he didn't have Adidas' logo on his trackie without them paying for it. Like Roger Federer, you want me to wear your shit....pay me. The other chap had a beige trackie....not very gangsta that.

Crumlin used to be a grand little spot for a gargle. The Village Inn was anyway. Guns are a great equalizer...........pity the way the place has gone. Pulled into one of the bookies there during the summer and it had an air about it. Strangers are threats. Bet on and reversed out with eyes fixed on the rear window. Never liked Drimnagh... 8)

It's hard to admire a man who feels the need to tattoo his name on his stomach.
But, in fairness to him, I believe he did try to pay the fine twice but it got sent back to him for admin reasons. Maybe he should have gotten 'pay speeding fine' tattooed on his arm or something?
-
ize gerrin me nayim tarood on me belly bud.
jesus christ almighty.
-
I think he's quite popular up above in Dublin, particularly among those who enjoy physical combat. The report suggests that he omitted his middle name from the form when he tried to pay the fine which, if true, suggests that somebody in the fines office was playing silly buggers. Maybe that's why he got no penalty points?
-
He probably put 'the Notorious' on the section where his name was meant to be.
-
Poor guy
All that money and hes still a dickhead
-
won't be long now until the 24 karat knacker gets his head tattooed like some gangster scumbag.
does john m have the odds I wonder.
-
Think he forgot to put his licence number on the FPN.
-
That'd seem more likely. Still, it seems he dodged the penalty points... well worth a nanosecond's wages?
-

He got 5 points from what I heard on the wireless.

we've all had the z-list "do you know who I am" 'celebrity' sorts before.
imagine picking that mouthy little egomaniac cunt up.
-
He got 5 points from what I heard on the wireless.
Excellent. It wasn't mentioned in the report linked. I'll sleep easier tonight.
-
Irish and begrudgery,,,eh? Just because he's amoney-making machine...shower of jealous fat cunts yez.......
-
No begrudgery on my part. We all get penalty points when we're caught breaking the rules of the road. There should be no exceptions.
-
I think it's great that he's been successful and all but I wouldn't wanna be stuck in a lift with him.The laugh seems a little fake....although second thoughts it might be real now he's minted.Ah well we won't be laughing if he gets into politics. That ego needs to be fed.
