You will neverr be offered that chance Leo is a Tea Party Supporter he even worked for them on his J1 .Let me explain where Ireland is today .We are a vassel state of the USA we house their entry point into the EU .As a result of that we Lose out Billions of Euro in tax as we facilitate the tax dodge for them .As part of that deal we joined up to a European Army where we willhave to pony up 2% of our GDP to fund European security .Where will that money come from we cant raise corporation tax the Americans wont allow us so we need to cut spending or raise other taxrs .Water Charges and Property tax will raise funds and then cut spending Socialwelfare is the target for cuts and family welfare is where it will happen They extended the age at which you can claim old age pensions that will save some coin they have operated bed blocking in the health service to speed up dying unless you can pay for medical attention but the neoconservative Gay Foreigner and his Liberal mates in Profit From The People and the Labour party have played into their hands Liberal Femanist Joan Burton decided to punish lone parents by cutting them off when their youngest child was 7 years of age .They promote homelessness in the hope it will prevent the Working Class from breeding .They even promoted Homosexuality as two benders or dikes cany breed so the government saves on providing school places .Now they are promoting Abortion .Most wealthy people could always access abortion in the UK or even here by going private and having a DNC which resulted in an abortion even though the procedure was for a different medical purpose .Ask yourself why they are promoting abortion would it have anything to do with money .Sharon and Kylie from down the flats are more likely to get pregnant outside of marrage than the Girlos from D4 .The government will then have to provide for those children with Social Welfare School Places and grants Housing Medical Cards and probab;y prison sells when they are older .They could save a fortune by preventing those children ever been born .If there are 15,000 abortions a year as they say then our hospital beds are going to be needed immediatly as there is only a 12 week window to kill the kid so anybody waiting on a knee or hip replacement will have to save up and go private .This bolloxology that a woman who was raped or insest has an automatic right to an abortion shows a total lack of understanding .The definition of rape is sex without consent so if a girl gets pregnant and says on the birthcert fathers name unknown was that rape you would think if she consented she at least would know who she consented to .So under the constitution you can kill an unborn bastard but as soon as that child is born he or she is cherished as much as any other child .Something seriously wrong when a government is saying rape is grounds to murder an unborn and the definition of rape is sex without consent .I wonder how many can consent after a Gallon of Wicket or ten Vodkas and Red Bulls .Gay Rights ,Abortion is allabout saving money it has nothing to do with human rights or Womens health .

i dont know about you octy, but my reasons are my national identity, my culture, and heritage have all been lost as a result of our liberal open border policy.
the only people who are constantly telling me i should welcome foreigners to Ireland, are well healed politicians, and business men who want avail of the cheap imported labour.
these politicians , some of whom enjoy multiple state pensions , and face no threat to their livlehoods as a result of the arrival of foreigners, we on the other hand, work in an industry which has been desimated by the influx of foreigners some of cannot even speak English, and none of whom are properly vetted.
so its easy to say welcome them when your livlehood is not affected

Dollymount have you noticed the evolution of the Irish economy .When Britain are out of the EU France Germany are comming after us for being Dirthy Sleevien Two faced Scumbags Filth .Because that is how we are viewed in Europe as Tax Cheats who have robbed every other European Country of their Rightfull Taxes but what really annoys Europe is we are dumb Cunts we stole their taxes and handed it back to the big companies we didnt even have the sense to keep it for ourselves .The IMF and the European Courts are trying to get us to take our Billions back from Apple but we dont want it .When we lose the apple case and they force us to take the money a lot of Tec companies will fuck off out of here as the tax deals they got willbe gone .We are planning for after the Tec exodus and most of you see it but dont notice it .They are doing what they did in Fudal Ireland when they forced the homesteaders off the land and what the did in the 60s and 70s to clear out the Tennements to make way for shops Offices and leisure .In a City that has huge homelessness we are building thousands of Student accommodations .Dorset Street Thomas Street,Gardner Street out by Belfield and the new Grangegorman Campus .We are getting ready for the change over from High Tec jobs to selling Education and Tourism.When I was a Kid there were only two Universities in Ireland UCD and Trinity now there are loads and the Government are going to give University status to the Institutes of Education .The idea being we let foreign nationals come here for their education they will pay and bring spending money with them and in the Summer when they are gone their accommodation will accomodate Tourists .The important thing is to have this accommodation close to the shops and spending zone .As in the City so ordinary families will be forced out of the Economic Zone by high priced homes .Dollymount I think you have a Poets view of the Emerald Isle .Its a backward kip most towns outside of Dublin Cork Galway are little more that roads to build pubs on with subsistance farmers Super Value or Lidil shops and Kids going to school trying to get an education so they can excape up to Dublin where they will pay two thirds of their wages on rent and que for hours to go to Coppers to get a taste of home that they both hate and Miss at the same time .Kids that use to learn the Tin Whistle off their grandas and practice for hours are now spending those hours playing Grand Theft Auto 5 or watching Gay Porn on Blue Tube as they think its natural .You ask them do you listen to Irish Music they go Fuck off I hate Boyzone

I remember me Da got the first ever video game 'Pong' fer me and me brother back in about 1975,
our house used to be full morning , noon and night with all our friends begging fer a go off it.
Last weekend I got a call from me small fella (16) looking to go to the 24 hour garage fer a Munch at 4am,
I oblige him and ask; "Wa de Fook ar ya doing up at 4 in de morning ?",
He replies; "Playing Playstation with the lads",
I stoopidly reply; "Wha ! Does your mother know all the lads are in the house ?",
He tells me; "Naw, there not in my house, there is 8 of us all playing online !".

Our current Taoiseach is the son of an immigrant. The threat to their jobs is there, they just haven't noticed it yet. All the shiny new schools with state of the art facilities are Educate Together or (colloquially) "black" schools. Ironic really, if Educate Together didn't exist the immigrants would have to go to the "white" schools and all the kids would be educated... well ... together.

When I lived in Blanch Irish families were taking the kids out of school because the immigrant kids didn't have adequate English like what us has..and were apparently holding the Irish kids back.
That's why the Gael scoils became so popular..

You don't need great English to pass multiple choice exam.I was in a cab last week and the dopey bollox tried to tell me he couldn't turn right on to Church street from the quays.Think he was a K badge.Must have been trying it on.

I'd tend to agree with him. I'm not great on city streets as I've forgotten more than most of you will ever know but would you not have to be driving the wrong way down a one way street (North Quays) to turn right onto Church St?

Sorry I said that wrong he tried to tell me we couldn't turn right off Merchant quay onto the o Donovan Rossa bridge that leads on to Church street from Merchants quay.I had to google the name of the bridge.But it's a main artery out of the city.

Then you would have to turn right onto Fr. Mathew Bridge (aka Whitworth Bridge, Dubin Bridge or Old Bridge) and proceed straight onto Church St. if that's allowed, DM.
O'Donovan Rossa Bridge (aka Richmond Bridge or Ormond Bridge) runs between Chancery Place and Winetavern Street, MfH.
P.S. I've had to Google all this too, none of us have a fucking clue.

I'm horrendous at giving directions.
I half know the name of every second street.
The odd time when someone asks me for direction i don't know what to tell them.
I found out that my brain processes journeys in slots.
I'll do a to b, then b to c, the c to d etc.
I usually can't work the whole thing out on the fly.

I'm gone pretty bad since I stopped being a courier.I find now if I work from the destination backwards it helps figure out a route.I'm getting very close to doing a Tubberdy and dumping the smartphone.I'm turning dumber by the hour..

I think we're programmed that way. If someone asks me what's the name of that pub on some street I'll struggle but say the name of the pub and I'll know exactly where it is... or, failing that, Google will!

While agreeably questioning how the fuck they got licences, I ask for directions at every corner. They invariably enthusiastically play along and generally tip generously... presumably for the good service?

Heres another question I kept forgetting to ask. I think some time ago the british courts that uber were an employer, and therefore were obliged to provide paid holidays,etc to their drivers.if they operate in Ireland , does the same rules not apply,and also does it also not apply to all the radio companies here that they must provide paid leave to their drivers ?

If'n ya had a Cushy number in a Cab office or a Taxi App company that only processed Credit Card street jobs that only required you to tap a few buttons per day and paid a full weekly salary with all entitlements and still allowed you to work the Cream hours of Night time Taxi work, then Yea, I would take that !

I think most of us are dysfunctional characters, DM. We don't like being told what to do, we don't like responsibility or accountability, we don't like being told when to go to work and how long to stay there, etc, etc... There are some handy numbers in the Civil Service where you can skive off for the majority of the week but they're few and far between. A mate of mine had the best job in the world with Telecom Eireann. For over 12 years he collected a van every Monday and returned it every Friday in exchange for a pay packet. However, he was found out when they changed the payroll system. They made him take a working job with Eircom Phonewatch which he done for a while before taking the lump.
The Uber judgement in the UK is interesting. It ought to have knock on effects for all cab companies over there, if upheld. However, I think there is some difference in how Irish law deals with casual workers, the 'erm probably knows more about it.
