Hi lads,
I am a taxi driver in Galway city but my car will be off the road for a few weeks so was thinking of renting a car to tie me over. I have been in touch with two companies in Dublin that facilitate short term rentals Rent a taxi and PSV.IE. Just wondering if anyone on here has used these companies or has any information about them. Thanks ;)

How much and what type of info do you want??
You want to rent a taxi from a Dublin based company and drive it in Galway!!!!

A Cork mate of mine tried both of them last year, Irish Rent a Taxi didn't offer to Cork and PSV.ie wanted 350Euro per week.

Google BOBO motors ask for Jack.
Or Stuart @ PSV.ie tell him you'll transfer your insurance on to his vehicle.

Hi, I have tried rent a taxi, and PSV.IE and they are both quoting 350 euro a week. As regards changing the insurance that isn't an option either as I am renting the taxi that I drive in Galway. :(

What up with your own car?

Phyllis Murphy
BOBO
Patrick Power
Paddy Wall
Cornelius F O'Donghue
Are just a few.
There's also a Michael Ring out your way.
Best of luck.

There is probably much better options fer long term rentals, but fer Short term that's about as good as it gets !
P.S. The more detail you give us, the more we can help you out.
No names or address's just some more specifics on the case in question.
Don't lie to us, we ain't that Stoopid !

Im new in this business and waiting for licence to start operating in Dublin area. I would like to rent a taxi o monthly basis in the begining with insurance. Do you have any suggestions ? My plan is yo have my own veichle in the near future but I think insurance companies would eat me for breakfast in this stage. Need some advice from experienced drivers. Thanks.

Try PSV.IE or Phyllis Murphy as RC says.. You're looking at €350 with insurance.
Best of luck.
-
Thanks a lot. I have this kind of offer already but thanks anyway. Good luck to you too.

Theres STILL to many fukkibg taxis, and the NTA are looking for 1600 more ffs
And if they do get 1600 new taxis,no guarantee they'll work when the NTA perceive it to be busy times....ye can't make someone who's self employed work unsociable hours...ye can't make them work atall.

To do as little as possible, for as much as possible.

The NTA see the taxi game as a cash cow....to subsidise all the other sh!t that they're not accountable for.....still haven't given a satisfactory explanation as to where the 20 mill went from the Taxi Regulator when it was subsumed into the NTA.
