Title: buying in the UK
Post by: john m on July 11, 2018, 12:30:14 pm
Tessy May and Donny T seem to want the world to collapse around them .If the Brexit thingey goes wrong Sterling should fall in value .Just looking at the price of used Diesel Cars in the UK if Sterling drops below 1.10 to the Euro there could be great value to be had even with the VRT .Saw a 13 occy one owner 58,000 miles for £4999 cheap car and you would get 4 years out of it .Rang the dealer and it was sold he said nobody wants Diesels in the UK they are hard to sell .Might be good deals if you had actual notes in your fist .

I was on the verge of buying a 2012 Honda Accord 2.2 Auto Diesel at £8500. The CU said no ...3 weeks later AIB gave us €15K to go buy a car. .
Spent €11250 plus a full tank of Petrol in The PRIUS.
I've decided that customers don't matter, it's my pocket does.

Test drive a PRIUS here: https://www.donedeal.ie/dealer/2116?xiti=SEC-290&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Dealer%20campaigns%20-%20Dealer%20Name%20Exact&utm_medium=search&utm_term=Cars%20Point (https://www.donedeal.ie/dealer/2116?xiti=SEC-290&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Dealer%20campaigns%20-%20Dealer%20Name%20Exact&utm_medium=search&utm_term=Cars%20Point)

Might save a couple of grand.Usually that's what the dealers hope to make on each one. Also check out the Lexus Is300h in the Uk.Bit of luxury for similar money.

A mate of mine told me that the charging of VRT is actually illegal.he says that the government are making  so much money from it ,that they just continue to pay the ridiculioulsy low fines. I dont think he is right about that though rat ?

Not sure on the legalities DM but we were certainly led to believe that VRT would become insignificant as a result of EU membership so I don't doubt you mate's understanding for a minute.
