I didnt hear any complaints from the unions a few years ago when the govt DOUBLED the minimum PRSI contribution for self employed fact I didnt hear any complaints from the self employed either

This compares with the 14.85pc contribution for PAYE workers, made up of 4pc from the employee, with the rest from the employer.

We pay 4%, the employee pays 4% (and the company pays 10.85%).  The unions should be concentrating on reducing the employer rate so it's easier for companies to hire union workers rather than pissing on our patch.  Look after your your own house first!
