Why did it take so long to revoke his licence .Big Dommo was having a slash in a laneway off Baggott Street and was done two weeks later for Public indecency as he had his lad in his hand when the Garda caught him .This Driver admitted the offence so why the delay in prosecution .

What delay? Less than a year from complaint to losing his licence (Dec 2017 - Nov 2018)
30th Dec 2017 - Complaint (2nd). First one was withdrawn so doesn't count legally.
May 2018 - Interviewed and he made admissions
Nov 2018 - Licence revoked
Jan 2019 - Court appeal and he lost.

A good friend of mine works for the rape crisis center .I mentioned the defence of she consented me Lord .She said if you are intoxicated you are not Compus Mentus and in control enough to consent .As part of Rape Kits used by hospitals they take both a Drug and Alcohol test .If the victim is found to be drugged or drunk the defence of consent wont be accepted by the courts in most cases .In a recent taxi case the victim said she left one taxi as she was getting sick .That added to a sobriety test might prove she was drunk and mean big trouble for any driver who thought the defence of she consented might get him off .

Record everything and make a complaint to the police. Funny thing, especially with working-class men, is that they are programmed into believing that women don't lie. CCTV works both ways. I had that same incident a few years back Octy with Two drunk chungwan student nurses in the cab, the girl in the front asks; "Can I turn up the radio ?" and I reply; "Do whatever you want Luv" not quite expecting 'Whatever you want' to be taken so literally !
So she turns up the radio and is doing all her Hand Jive bit in the cab and then she puts her hand inbetween my legs and drums on my testicles, she retrieves her hand after a few seconds and restarts her Drunken hand jive bit again and then she again puts her hand inbetween my legs fer a Second time and again drums her fingers on my testicles, I catch her by the wrist and remove her hand saying; "Don't do that Luv".
All is good she paid her fare at the end and we all went our separate ways.

A week or so later I'm listening to the Niall Boylan show on 4FM late at night and this Femi-Nazi is giving out Stink and saying that any man who touches a woman without her consent should be jailed, Blah, Blah, Etc, Etc...
So I wrote a short text to 4FM it read; "I'm a Cork night time Taxi driver and I was recently sexually abused by a young student nurse in my cab", I pressed 'Send' on my phone and went to put the phone back in it's cradle, before I could get the phone back in the cradle it Rang; "Hello this is 4FM will you go 'Live' with Niall and tell him your story ?".
So I agreed and a minute later I was 'Live' with Boylan and I told my story as described above, the Femi-Nazi holding on the other line came back roaring; "But He is a Man !!" and Boylan to be fair to him interrogated her over that remark, the last few comments I made on the show were; "What if the Shoe had been on the other foot ? What would happen to me if I put my hand inbetween a young student nurses legs and drummed on her Bits ?. If I were to follow all the Rules should I report the Girl to the Gardai and get her a Sexual misconduct conviction and end her career in One fell swoop ?"

Sexual Harassment, I'd say no matter what we do we would we guilty, sometimes you cant win.
Best bet is straight to the cop shop if this sort of unacceptable behaviour happens again otherwise you could end up with a knock on your door the next day with the Auld Bill trying to pin something on you.

Conditioning/Programming: All the yrs, and in all the jobs I've worked, and in different countries.............not once have I seen a wife carrying a picture of her husband in her purse/wallet..........indoctrination. That said, men are more likely to sexually assault than women. When it is totally reversed, and in time it will be, I hope I'm alive to laugh when a woman is given a sentence for the same crime.

Simple solution to a lot of problems .On board CCTv linked to a data base with facialrecognition .That way everything is recorder including who is driving the car .Change the meter to one that requires you insert your ID card into it for it to work .Heeps drivers and passengers safe and reduces the amount of illegal operators .Also gives the Garda a few thousand mobile camera units that can be programmed to identify wanted persons through facial ID in cabs ..I think this was the idea the last time they proposed mandatory on board cameras now with ALL the attacks by drivers and passengers on drivers dont be surprised to see mandatory cameras being proposed again with Metaxioffering subsidies to drivers who fit them .

Last time they were talking about a a grand plus a yearly fee for data storage .Just because we rejected it dosent mean that the firmbehind has given up .Is this TD from Cork as that is where the Firm were located .The TD who wants rural rideshare might be playing us hopine we get annoyed complain about passenger safety and then he drops the in board camera on us and says it should be fitted to all vehicles who carry passengers for reward .That way he is on a win/win if he gets rural rideshare he is a winner if he gets on board cameras a few locals get jobs win/win.

It's not a simple solution. You'd need to connect 25,000 PSV vehicles over the internet/radio waves to a central location where 1,000's of Gardai would have to monitor the data feeds in real time. Afterall, there's no point is pinpointing a bad guy in a taxi if you can't catch him within 10 mins. Otherwise, the taxi journey would be over and he'd be gone!

And facial recognition tech doesn't work that well either. The UK police are trying it (illegally) and it doesn't work too good.

They use a logoritm .I posted before lad on our road does security in Liffey valley they have facial recognition .If you are caught shoplifting they take your picture and add it to a data base so do other shopping centers .When a known lifter enters the center their photo is broadcast to security staff from shops who pay for the service .The Gards wouldnt need to be watching anything .Your facial map has been grabbed by the state when you got your driving licence socialservices card or passport .The success rate might be low now but in time it will be as effective as fingerprints or DNA .

So how would it work for taxis?
Say you're driving Big Dommo from the Stone Boat to the Marble Arch. He has a few warrants outstanding for pissing up laneways. It's a 10-15min taxi ride.
The algorithm identifies him and then what? It (and the taxi driver) doesn't know where the taxi is going (Dommo pays cash & is cagey about telling people his business).

That's not facial recognition John....that's taking a photo and sharing it.
The photos are stored on a server and if the Known criminal enters the complex cameras around the shops recognise the face and the shop security are informed by message and that includs a pic.
