They're mutually exclusive options in the poll. However, there isn't too many taxis at the moment but come the next recession (and it will come) there will be. As a part-timer I don't agree that it should be a trade for full-timers only. I'm guessing the only way you could force men to work full-time would be to tax them on full-time earnings regardless of whether they work the hours required or not i.e. assume that they earn c.€50,000 with an income tax/PRSI/USC liability of c.€10,000... now, obviously you can't tax men on notional income so, logically, that figure should be used to set the annual licence fee. As a part-timer I wouldn't pay €10,000/year for my licence... I'd either retire or go full time.

Why would you want only full time drivers and how would you know if somebody was working full time except if you chipped the meter ?

There's two options - one for each question/assertion. How can anyone vote yes to both or no to both or yes to one and no to the other, all we can do is select one or the other.

As part-time scum, I'd say there is plenty of room for part-time scum. In fact the trade could employ 2-3 times the number of men currently employed if we got rid of the full-time scum.

I know two drivers who work part-time hours(less than 20 hours a week) who receive a pension, but don't work another job. Would they be classified as full-time or part-time?

Was there something years ago when applying for your PSV license you had to be available to work a certain amount of hours each week.

I believe there was a time that taxi driving had a requirement of a driver to be available to work a minimum of 40 hrs pw can you throw any light on this rat ?

If us full time part timers, starting work8ng full time again we would just be taking food off the table of all the full full timers out there. And then they won’t be happy and will be complaining that there is too many full timers in the business
