Pre book update will be installed tomorrow. They have added a number blocker so customers will not be able to ring you after the order, a new panic button night mode for night time driving & also drastically improved the speed of the app.
Future update will include passenger split fare with friend and in app navigation and reduced commission in peak hours.
Heat map(u will be able to see busy areas on map)

Why would any taxi driver want split fare .Keep it simple .Flag have somewhere between fuckall chance and no chance of competing unless they just keep it simple .Nearest car gets the job end of .KEEP IT SIMPLE TO SUCCEED or die fucking about with it .

Anytime i've had the app on and it's offered me a job...it tends to be kms away..ala Mytaxi....which i tend to reject/ignore and then zero offers after that.
I'd like there to be competition in the app market but once bitten twice shy anall dat.

Why would any taxi driver want split fare .Keep it simple .Flag have somewhere between fuckall chance and no chance of competing unless they just keep it simple .Nearest car gets the job end of .KEEP IT SIMPLE TO SUCCEED or die fucking about with it .
Split fare work from passenger end, taxi driver has nothing to do with that, this option will be in passenger app,it can be famous option with teenagers or who share ride with friends.

So Rodent how do they stand legally are they selling driver security with their in app panic button .Who will respond to the button are they now a security company .As I posted before they need to realize they have absolutely no clue what they are doing .Inventing a few lines of code is a long way from running a business .I wouldnt take a 90% share in it for free .No clue no business plan making it up as they go .They should look at toilet roll simple soft paper on a roll wipes your arse clean .Its always exactly the same made of paper because it works keep it simple .

It promotes camaraderie, erm. That's a good thing IMO. I appreciate that post entry liberalisation scum won't have experienced that in the trade before but restoring it to whatever extent may prove possible is well worth a try.

Johnny your bein at tad unfair... Though I agree with simple.... They shud copy the hailo app... Everyone loved it... Passengers and drivers and it worked.
The Germans have their hands on your customers and your work and charging an extortionate amount..... And promoting competition between drivers.... And them drivers are handing it to them on a plate because they are so fukin brain dead they can't think beyond next week... ..
My taxi is also lobbying for more taxis, Rideshare, involved in driver training,
And also declared their stated aim Is to take control of the Autonomous vehicle market...
Give flag a chance....it can only be positive for Irish taxi drivers....

Fare share ? If two passenger travelling together and if one pay by app then paying party is going to divide fare with her friend. I don't see anything wrong with. If I travel with my friend and I want to pay them my part of fare then what's wrong with that ? Passenger already doing this by paying half fare in cash but if they have option to do same from passenger app by account then it's a facility.
Fare share doesn't mean u have to pick two unknown passenger.

Lynk have offered the fare share facility for a good while now... I'd imagine it's popular with the students, I certainly see a lot of drivers working for Lynk picking up at the student residences in Santry of an evening. Get 'em young, I guess, that's what the phone companies do!

I like working for mytaxi but I don't like the power they have over my business or the extent to which they control/own our trade hence I welcome any competition and, to be fair to Flag, they are doing things that I like e.g. no priority, lower commission, promoting camaraderie, generally listening to drivers, etc...

I will do my best to support Flag, for the reasons RC and Oct1 have expressed. I don't know why people see the need to use expletives in direct conversation with someone who is imparting information in a polite and civilised manner.
The need for a booking facility for clients is obvious and essential, high heels, expensive hair dos, frocks, walking sticks etc.

I don't understand ur philosophy, everyone has smart phone, they might don't have mobile credit but they have internet to order taxi, cash jobs are good but I need to be realistic, if I don't work with app then its mean I m turning away business. So I have no idea what definition u have for business.

I got a call from Flag saying that they have atracted new investors, and will be starting a new marketing campaign. Think they need to market more in the suburbs where the demand is, and not just Matt The Thresher, and Fibber Mc Gees.

Nosha.pak my logic is simple .I believe the current list of dispatchers operating in the Irish taxi industry believe they are actually the drivers employers,rather then the other way round.these companies instruct drivers what to wear,how much to charge,and actually discipline drivers for giving back heavily discounted work.I even heard there are a whole range of other rules,and regulations these people lay down for drivers.they just dont seem to get it. The drivers employ them,not the other way round.could you imagine a situation where lets say I am a retailer and I go to my supplier for goods and he starts telling me what I can charge in my shop,or he tells when im in my shop I must wear a uniform bearing HIS logo,and he will discipline me for not doing what im told.now bear in mind im self employed,how long do you think this prick would last as my suppliet ?

I'm with a traditional despatch company, no enforcement to wear a uniform, no sanction for rejecting any type of work. Traditional despatch companies will reduce to max 1 or 2, and maybe disappear altogether as the older citizens expire, and all the younger ones use the apps.

They can't force you but they want you to wear them and lynk, VIP even charge you for uniform.
Mostly dispatch companies survive on Gov account jobs where u find no check and balance. U pay base fee plus per job % the list goes on companies like lynk.
So yes I m in favour of pay per job commission so want to see more pay per job commission.
Yes we don't need dispatch companies in first place but fact is now its reality u wont make money without them now a days.

If all the available work was back with the traditional companies, and drivers were as busy as they currently are with MyTaxi, they would be paying a lot less freight to the despatch companies than they are currently paying to MyTaxi.Hopefully Flag won't fail, and hopefully it will maintain it's pro driver attitude, and if it is successful, not sell out to someone else, but it has a mountain to climb it has to be said. Marketing, and significant driver switch on is critical.

Trivago, Hotel.com, Booking.com. All agencies where your room price is directly compared with and rented out with a moxy load of other hotels, and commission taken presumeably.

Most irish citizens are ignorant of the fact that world war 3 is going on all around them..... Facebook bought a row of houses not far from me recently.... Now I imagine in order to do that they went in with a blank cheque, meanwhile my nieces who are in very well paid professional jobs are in despair the property ladder has been shut off from them and they will have to live with their parents unless a miracle happens. The American investors came here circa 2011 and bought shares in bank of Ireland effectively took control of the Irish banks... At rock bottom priced and sold them a couple of years later for 100 s millions in profit, meanwhile the Irish taxpayers bailed out the banks to the tune of 200 billion...
The foreigner bought land, apartment blocks, housing estates, hotels, for fukin buttons... The Irish fianna gowl traiters sold property to the foreigner through nama to vultures funds banks who are now evicting Irish families to live in the fuking Park... Vulture funds banks who pay less tax as a company than I do as an individual...
The fianna gowl traiters triad to argue that it was OK for the Facebook, Google vultures funds etcetera etcetera.. To operate and not pay anything tax to Ireland

You must be part time scum like me, nosha.pk. I done a 39 hour week last week for the first time in years and mytaxi charged me over €140 in freight. I only had priority after 8p.m. Saturday and for the 6 hours I worked on Sunday and I don't cover "hospitality" jobs. Back when I worked for C2K we could work as many hours as we wanted for €80/90 freight with no discounts and all bribes to hotels/pubs/car hire return sheds/etc included... imagine what ambassadors with priority are paying, particularly the ones who pay hospitality fees - mytaxi have at least doubled the freight for full time scum.

Here is a different approach .The Minister in the review said he wants all taxies aligned with a dispatch .Now that is what is known as Government policy and IT WILL HAPPEN probably in time have to state which company you are aligned to as part of suitability .Most drivers do not want to be aligned because they think the tax man will get them ,if the tax man wanted you then reading the meter would be part of the Suitability .
If we had clever people in charge of this industry then this is what would happen .We would go direct to the Minister and say ."Sir your policy of drivers being aligned to dispatchers has a major flaw ,that is you have failed to provide the dispatch service and by doing so you are forcing drivers to sign up with dispatchers that incur costs of on average 12% .Will the taxi Regulator or the Department of Transport be providing this digital booking service or is the plan to increase fares by the average commission rate to offset the costs of alignment to drivers .
The bottom line here is simple the cost to you of covering work which is legally destined for you (taxi fares ) is on average 12% this is extortion or ransom which ever way you look at it .Already taxi fares are being dispatched to non taxi vehicles .You complained that traditional dispatchers had Golden Boys who got the good work .What do you think ambassadors are .You cover the shite to build the brand so the chosen few get the cream .
The tech exists for the Government to operate a taxi dispatch app and make sure WATs are covering WAT work and that drivers only operate in areas for which they hold a licence a small increase in the Suitability would cover the cost .I dont know of any other licenced industry who is effectivly being asked to jion a trade organisation (Dispatcher )and is required to pay 12% of their before costs earnings which in reality is equal to about 20% of your profit .
If you want a dispatch app then get the state to provide one they already provide one for busses .

Hal government policy is they want ALL drivers aligned if thats the policy let them provide it if you paid tax on every cent you earned it would be less than the commission you pay an app .

I was a proponent of Govt providing the eHail infrastructure way back before we gave Hail0/mytaxi control of our work, alas I was a lone voice of reason... the Unions were busy lining their own pockets with revenue from the commercial app firms.

Still, it's better than when we had to go to up above to Dublin to get the licence from the city council every year, at least we only have to go as far as Ballymun now and don't have to feed parking meters and walk and climb stairs and all that shite.
Reminds me, I have to delve back into the streamlined process on the 25th to get my meter sealed... over a month after the car was licensed.

They have the work, DM. If I decided not to work for mytaxi I'd have to start working the official ranks up above in Dublin city centre. I don't like working in the city or queuing on ranks or turning up at a rank to find there's no space.... and even if I did that it wouldn't take mytaxi long to replace me with an immigrant driving a clapped out shitebox masquerading as a limousine, like what they sent Mrs. Bullet a while back when she eHailed a TAXI.

If we all go after your work there'll be none left for you. If we were just dealing with the Irish dispatch firms, Uber and Flag a withdrawal of service might work but mytaxi are different, they don't rely on taxis to cover taxi fares... they'd just replace us with hackneys/"limousines"... they'd still have our work.

You must be part time scum like me, nosha.pk. I done a 39 hour week last week for the first time in years and mytaxi charged me over €140 in freight. I only had priority after 8p.m. Saturday and for the 6 hours I worked on Sunday and I don't cover "hospitality" jobs. Back when I worked for C2K we could work as many hours as we wanted for €80/90 freight with no discounts and all bribes to hotels/pubs/car hire return sheds/etc included... imagine what ambassadors with priority are paying, particularly the ones who pay hospitality fees - mytaxi have at least doubled the freight for full time scum.
I don't work for mytaxi, anyone want to work for them should read there Terms and Conditions first.
Mytaxi has bad reputation and mostly this damage come from there staff. They are ignorant and don't know about mostly issues driver have.
They have driver team without driver, too many cancellation, mostly shit passenger.

To a point where picking up off the street may no longer exist... Or in fact be a limited market of hoodies going for their fix or nuftys going to the off licence....
Meanwhile the app market gets stronger and takes most of your customers away...
But anyway most on here have their mortgages paid or are on the road to retirement and this is no issue for them....
And they have the privilege to not care less...
But for some this is a very important issue
