So will these drivers be declaring this subsidised income and also declaring to their insurance providers of their intention to become a PSV...or will they be exempt from all the malarky surrounding taxi licencing that applies to us suckers?

And Mytaxi being one of these taxi companies proposing this wonderful idea......maybe they're the ones who are gonna subsidise this service.....it may indeed be Free Now....while we continue to pay 12%!!

I cannot see a lot of folk waiting outside the local pub at 11:30 on a week night to bring the few drunk fuckers home.
You need to be a bit mental to work nights in the taxi game, no sane person would do I for a few measly quid and a grant for their insurance.

I wouldn't willingly drive for a pub job not knowing who the fuk you're picking up....i make the decision on who i pick up from OUTSIDE a pub as i drive up to it.

Why would you be waiting outside empty pubs .Young country people dont go to the pub they smoke dope and sit in their room wanking to porn .The older ones stay at home drinking 12 Euro a bottle whiskey from Lidl .The Rural Hack is to provide HSE transport for pensioners to day care and kids to school for as cheap as possible .The rural pub argument is bogus .

If culchies are getting subsidies so they can imbibe their drug of choice, maybe urban taxi drivers should get subsidies to drive junkies on their drug runs.

You would think Publicans in the spirit of humanity would provide transport for the drunk revellers.

Going so far as getting late licences to prevent nightclubs getting their business.

Exactly SB......but they also now have the NTA subsidising insurance from taxi licence fees.....and as we know the taxi industry is very financially viable for the NTA,when the Taxi Regulator was subsumed into the NTA it brought with it €20 million....which disappeared into fukin thin air....at a PAC meeting,the geezer from the NTA couldn't account for where that money went to only to say salaries for employees,no fukin records....imagine any of us giving Revenue a shrug of the shoulders and some bullshit fairytale!!

I totally agree, between Midnight and 4am any night, then I want a Butchers at my customer and I'll make the decision if I want to pick them up or not. Dinny, Joe or Padge pissed as coots going up the road fer a Fiver, No Thanks !
