Had a lad works for Jessie Harington in the car yesyerday .He said that you should avoid backing for big money in the Chase races at cheltenham .That the weather has been so dry and the ground so hard that some chasers have not jumped a fence in races or training since Christmas .Trainers dont want them jarred up on firm ground so they might be a bit rusty .He said Samcro is supposed to be working well again and that he might be Gordon Elliotts Champion Hurdle horse and Apples Jade might go for the Mares hurdle instead. Samcro is about 10/1 with paddy power .Powers will give you back your money if your horse finishes 2nd 3rd or 4th in any race on the first day to a ten euro stake .Might be worth a tenner @10/1 four chances .
-
A fiver on every Mullins horse would see you make profit............you might need 80 fivers though to do it though.

mullins dosent seem to have the ammo this year but his handicappers might do well .
-
Don't think they'll be aiming at the Champion Hurdle with Samcro, maybe the Stayers??
-
Just reporting what I was told and it was he runs in the Champion .10/1 getting paid your money back first four might be a nice sort of free throw on the first day .I got a small bit of 5/2 Bouvadair If apples jade runs in the mares he will be odds on .
-
Paddies Day is on the Sunday... covering the losses should come easy enough.
-
I heard that John M was proposing a Forum 6 horse Heinz type of bet fer Cheltenham.
I would disagree with the Heinz 57 as it involves 15 Doubles and there is No money in Doubles,
I would suggest 20 Win Trebles, 15 Win Quads, 6 EW Quins and a Half-Doubled-up EW Accer = 50 bets.
If we can get Six entrants all with their own One selection at Fifty a pop then we could do the 300Euro bet at a Six Euro stake ?
-
Ok Ken lets pick one each 6 players and each of us places the bet for whatever stake they want .Ill kick it odd
Bouvadair in the Champion @15/8 I dont think Apples Jade will run in it and I dont think she jumps well enough for a race at this pace '
-
Samcro non runner he broke down in a bit of work today .
-
Broke down... is it a car or a horse?
-
Broke down... is it a car or a horse?
Its a technical term for bolloxed applies to both .Final bit of fast work before Chelt he pulled up bolloxed .The free throw get your tenner back first four places with paddy power .Have a look at the Mares hurdle three horses under 5/4 one or two of them will run in other race so value EW one of the big priced ones with the chance of a refund .
My next bet is Apples Jade @4/1 for the stayers NR no bet .If she runs in it she will be fav .Dont think she will run in the Champion .New rules this year horse cannot run twice at the festival .

I'll take Daylight Katie in the Bumper @ 20/1.

Guy paid €10 for a €5 fare to Burlo. Said " 7th horse, 3rd race Cheltenham Thursday".
Worth a punt??

That makes No sense !
The 3rd race on Thursday is the Ryanair chase.
But what does "7th horse" mean ?
There is no horse in the race with a 7 in his name,
and the Seventh horse in the betting changes on a daily basis.
The horses numbers are allocated at the 24 hour overnight stage,
so what does he mean by "7th horse" ?

so Harry is in at number 7 in the Ryanair chase ?

Don't know much about betting on the horses Ken, (used to know how to ride them alright),or number allocation, I assumed that he knew which horse was number 7 already, or maybe the horse is called "seventh horse"

-
That it is...pot luck. The bullshitters are usually gamblers themselves.
-
I that Gordon Elliot's yard has a few horses coughing for what it's worth, tread carefully.
-
Very few of them had any proper run, although Mick Ryanair will win at least 2 million to cover his stable costs etc....

Looks like the rumour might be right..

-
Laid Apples Jade how she started fav is a mystery greater than Fatims .
-
Another Annie Power moment from Ruby... corrupt as fuck since he started working for Paddypower.com.
-
Horse clipped the top of it and crumpled on landing,no jockey error imo.

What difference would it make to Paddy Power .com those cunts wont take a bet .
-
They'll take bets on losing accounts.. I guess little strokes like that help ensure losing accounts continue to lose, always plenty of multiples on Ruby. I must dig out the argument Ruby had with John McCririck a few years ago about the place of gambling in racing... before he became a kept lowlife hypocrite.
-
Everyone knows there'd be no racing without gambling....the horse is the Trojan horse so to speak.

Punters pay bookmakers to make bookmakers rich... I think he said:

Rich Ricci defends BetBright decision as Benie Des Dieux falls in Cheltenham Festival misery
His horse, Benie Des Dieux. fell at the last in the Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival 2019

A bad week for Rich Ricci got even worse on day one of the 2019 Cheltenham Festival when odds on favourite Benie Des Dieux fell at the last in the Mares’ Hurdle.
Jockey Ruby Walsh appeared to be leading the Willie Mullins-trained horse to victory and the defence of the crown she won at Prestbury Park last year.
Yet just as with Annie Power in the Mares’ Hurdle in 2015, Walsh tumbled at the last, allowing 10/1 Roksana to run to victory.
Ricci owns Benie Des Dieux (and also owned Annie Power in 2015) and had to watch on as history repeated itself in the same week that he has received criticism for his involvement in the closure of now defunct bookmakers BetBright.
The company decided to refund stakes on all ante-post bets placed with them after selling their technology to rival firm 888.com.
This caused outrage with some customers, who had placed bets with long odds on horses set to run at Cheltenham this week, for example.
“It's been a very difficult week,” Ricci told ITV Racing after the Mares’ Hurdle.
“The directors acted in the interest of all of their shareholders, stakeholders, customers, creditors, whatever. That's all I can say about it.
“The directors of the company - of which I'm not one, however, I was supportive of the actions they took - acted in the best interests.
“No one feels good about it. It happens in business. People have lost their jobs. People have lost money. There is no profit gained by anyone else. It's just a difficult situation and we're just trying to do the best for everyone. We'll see what happens.
“It's unique circumstances. The company has its own issues and its own reasons for doing things.”

Killed that company when they laid Faugheen at best odds knowing he was injured and would not run in the Champion .

It was a novel set up for a bookies. Based in Ireland but didn't bet in Euros, Sterling only. Initially based on a not so clever computer program that scraped Betfair Exchange odds and tried to replicate them, frequently advertised under-round books in the very early days. The concept, if memory serves, was that it would be a bookie for professionals i.e. it wouldn't close winning accounts... all based on the theory that it could lay off on Betfair to negate risk. Not sure where the profit was ever going to come from though... oh wait, it didn't come from anywhere!

Is there any profit in laundering money ?Betting under round back the field .Bookie takes the comission .Simple really .
-
For money laundering you need an over-round book, as is the norm. I'd say moist bookies are involved in money laundering... naturally they'll all claim that any such involvement is unwitting. Obviously, anyone who know how paddypower or Boylesports work will know that they are obviously complicit.
