No inflation ,no increase in wages so the 100k you owe is still worth 100k inflation destroys the banks assetts reduces the stress on you to pay .Its a game Merc the old monetary system has failed the new one is to control the penny in your pocket and tax every bit of it .I asked a girl how much money she earned a week she said 380 I asked does your boss hand it to you in an envelope with a wage slip .She said no its paid into her bank .I asked so you do not get cash you get points on a card if you want any cash you have to go to a hole in the wall and pay to convert your work points into cash and pay the bank for the transaction .She got out of the taxi at the end of her journey and said thats on my account .In ten years or less you wont be able to spend an untaxed cent .

Why control inflation there is no need to increase interest rates .Easy to control wage inflation if you import cheap workers .Germans are threatening to withdraw the Mini and BMW plants from the UK after Brexit they were going to do that any way now they have a million young imports to work in their plants .

I believe you "Have your money made" so why worry? 8)

Report says approx 12% in the UK would struggle in a cashless society. Presumably the same would apply here? Maybe even moreso if we have a larger rural population?
The UK risks "sleepwalking" into becoming a cashless society with millions of people disadvantaged as a result, a study has concluded.
Banknotes and coins are a necessity for eight million people, according to the Access to Cash study.
The report, authored by ex-financial ombudsman Natalie Ceeney, said a cash-free society would create problems for those in debt or living in rural areas.
Last year, debit cards overtook cash as the UK's most popular payment method.

There seems to be a lot of ATM robberies of late, particularly in rural areas... I think another one was removed from a wall in Cavan this weekend. These types of robberies cause extensive damage... in one case a vehicle practically demolished a newly refurbished filling station in Donabate for the sake of a few hundred notes.
Would a cashless society eliminate a lot of crime and related insurance expense or merely redirect the criminals' attention to stock in trade and other property?

Maybe these thieves are just helping the banks in their quest to reduce the number of ATM's.

I worry for the future of criminality in Ireland.
Using a 100 Grand JCB to rob an ATM with possibly 50K in it.
FFS sell the Digger and if you're caught, a much lower sentence.
Sheesh!!

But the ribbed JCB can’t be sold on for that price, only get about 10k for it

Have a look at the prices stolen goods are fetching at the Balbriggan car boot sales/markets.

It'd be hard to get a JCB into the market. To be fair to the Gardai they keep a close eye on it these days. Fairyhouse is rumoured to be a better bet for "designer" stuff, if you'll excuse the pun.

I'm guessing you at least tried. 8)

Not personally, M&S and Debenhams are designer to me... and I generally get them over the borderless border.

You probably think JCB's are Trainers! 8)

I was thinking of the vehicles... digger yokes like big tractors... but it could well be a designer label for clothes/shoes I guess.
