GARDAI are seeking information in relation to the alleged knifepoint robbery of a taxi driver in Tallaght on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Brookview Drive at around 9pm on Wednesday night (March 6), with two juvenile suspects allegedly making off with some of the driver's possessions.
In a statement to The Echo this morning, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating a robbery from a taxi driver at Brookview Drive in Tallaght on [March] 6th at about 9pm.
“Taxi driver had wallet with cash and mobile phone stolen in the incident.”
The spokesperson added that the suspects were believed to be armed with a knife, and have been described as "teenage boys; one wearing a black tracksuit and the second a brown tracksuit and hoodie".
Anyone with information in relation to the incident can contact Tallaght Garda Station at 666 6000.

How do two scrotes wearing trackies and hoodies get in to a taxi in the first place?....that's probably a seperate investigation!!
-
mytaxi? I know when I worked for C2K you had to watch out for gurriers ordering cars to residential addresses in Swords and waiting close by for the driver/victim. However, I didn't hear of any knife attacks from that MO, mostly runners with one or two opportunistic snatches.
I think the attack reported in the OP was carried out very close to another armed robbery captured on video... link posted somewhere on the forum. On that occasion it seemed to be an Irish gurrier holding the knife to the driver's throat.

Always keep doors locked...and if in doubt....leave them there!!

Indeed. Having said that I've noticed a trend among some of my mytaxi regulars in the northside suburbs, generally lads using throwaway phones/accounts, where they use female names on the app... sometimes quite obvious by the fact that they can't spell the chosen names.
