One thing for sure, IF any irregularities found the person responsible will resign and more than likely get off scot free

Whatever happened with the investigation into the Olympic ticket sales .What happened to Irish FAI tickets for Russia last year .Dont be surprised if it turns out there is a link between the LOAN and ticket sales .The evil eye would of been on the FAI after the OCI got caught touting their ticket alocation.

From a really good source I was told .The Olympic Council told Pat Hickey not to bring the Knacker Junkie who failed the Drugs test to the Olympics even though he had a review of his sample pending .Hickey told Boxing Ireland not to include him in the squad but the Boxing crowd thought they were too important as only boxers had any chance of meddeling and threatened Hickey .As a result of Ireland disobaying instructions from the Olympic Council they punished Ireland by making sure no Irish boxers would advance just in case they too were full of medicin and would embarress the Olympics .There is still a huge unanswered question ,Why did Billy Walsh really leave as our most successfull olympic coach .Delaney was due to take over from Hickey at Olympics Ireland but that went tits up .

FAI is a limited company .He might not bother appearing in front of any committee just tell them to kiss the butt end of his bollox .

I don't understand the controversy.
Delaney is loaded and he gave somebody a loan that was repaid.
what am I missing.

Delaney is Gone ....just resigned moving to another position in the organisation .Smells and looks like another ticket fiddle ,he probably had to make up the shortfall with a loan .I suppose now he dosent need to go before the Dail as he is no longer CEO.

Delaney I now the Executive Vice President

I saw this doing the rounds

Don’t see John Delaney making it to April as FAI C.E.O. It appears the money he ‘lent’ to the FAI was in order to hide money from his wife and kids during divorce proceedings. If that’s the case, it’s fraud, a breach of corporate governance which means he’s struck off from being a company Director and will face a civil suit from his wife. Can’t see sponsors being too happy to support an organisation that facilitated any of the above and particularly at the expense of his family, Oireachtas committee have a whistleblower, presumably the ex Chief Financial Officer Of FAI and the source for the Sunday Times is his wife.

How much was repaid on the 'Bridging loan' ?

Also why if he is on 7K a week is he living in a rented house paid by the FAI fer 750 a week ?

Delaney is as Durty as Lowery and O Brien, it will all come out 'In the Wash' when we are all Dead !

Hiding a oner from the Mrs by way of a cheque or draft is a bit self-defeating.........is he not an Accountant?; then he'd know that cash is king...there's a smell of shite off this one............the FAI can't dump him as they're up to their necks in whatever he is up to..........

When the Rio ticket scandal broke, Delaney was on the First flight home abandoning Hickey.

He's sound according to the COYBIG thunderheads............bought them all gargle and belted out a few Rebel songs in foreign boozers.....all tax deductible with a corporate expenses platinum card, I presume.

I'm not sure if a man who is recently separated can have his previous income assessed as a basis for a divorce payout...this pay-cut might be a cunning strategy to avoid paying out on previous earnings? Wonder what the cut-off for financial liability regarding earnings is?

I'd imagine with a salary of circa 360k and your house paid for , 100k would only be peanuts.

Apparently as well as his FAI salary, he had €160k PA from EUEFA, which, last year he "gifted" to the FAI, so now with his new role with FAI, albeit on a lower salary, he will still have his €160k PA from EUEFA, so no change financially here/

Nobody, he as CEO was doing it all, but on taking up his new office he cherry picked the few bits of his old job that he wanted to keep fer himself.

Niall Quinn has branded the appointment of John Delaney as Executive Vice President of the FAI as a "fudge", "a little bit of charade" and has called on the former CEO to leave the organisation completely.
The ex-Republic of Ireland international said he has no interest in the now vacant role because of Delaney being in the new position and feels it is made for "a gilly".
Quinn has given a very strong view on the events of recent days, describing the new job for Delaney as a rushed decision by the FAI.
He told Virgin Media: "Under absolutely no circumstances will I be applying for the job given the current remit of where this job sits. I don't think that it reads as a CEO role at all.
"I think it reads as half a CEO role and anybody going in there will have a huge shadow over them because the departing CEO hasn't departed at all. It would make life very, very difficult and quite frankly I think it's a little bit of a charade, given the scrutiny that was in place over the last week.
"The rush of the appointment, the unanimous decision of the board told late on a Saturday night in the middle of some serious scrutiny on the CEO at that time, that this was best for the Association and it was a great move and everyone should back it, we're not buying it and I'm not buying it.
"I think that it is an ill-conceived decision that needs to be looked at again in my opinion. I'll say it again: it's a half a CEO role and it's a role I think at this stage if it stays in its current remit, for a gilly."
Quinn thinks Delaney should step away from the FAI to allow a new dawn after 14 years as chief executive, explaining why he thinks "it doesn’t sit right" in that he would have such important and long-standing duties of a CEO in the new position.
He concluded: "How can you bring in your passion, your drive and everything, how can they go in there with a great vision and ability as a CEO? In every other company in the world the CEO can make great decisions through the association or organisation.
"With the departing CEO not departing at all, and taking some of the responsibilities and prettier and glamorous jobs, but also the important jobs, it just doesn't sit right.
"He has been around a long time. He has done it. It's probably high time now that a different FAI appear.
"We have a moment in time now as an association and football-loving country to see real change and this is a bit of a fudge."

He was interested in the role himself, Quinner. He has the polish and the charm, but has he the sharpness and cunning? I'd say it takes a special breed to deal with the chancers in charge all over the world.
