Title: Rehoming bearded dragons
Post by: Horse on January 13, 2020, 12:12:10 am
My kids both have a bearded dragon, complete with their own enclosures and heat lamps etc. We have one about a year and the other about 6 months. We need to get them rehomed asap. Anyone who wants one or both  with their separate enclosures (they cant be keep together because they fight), feel free to pm me. They are free of charge because they must go asap as our house is like a zoo now with a dog, 2 cats, goldfish,  crayfish, musk turtles and bearded dragons. Cheers.

What size are they and what size is the enclosure ?

One of them is about 10" long and his enclosure is about 4' long by about 1.5' high x about 1.5' deep. The other one is slightly smaller at about 8" and his enclosure is slightly smaller too. Both come with heat and UV lights. There is very little care involved with them although their food is quite specialised, it has to be moving or they wont eat it. Chuck them in the bath once a week too which helps their skin which can become quite dry and itchy for them. I'd keep them myself but as I said, I feel like our gaf is a zoo.

Although a good plan in theory I dont think I'd get past the entrance with two lizards poking out of my pocket.  In fact they may report me for putting the lizards in danger.

They're popular enough as pets. My older not so young lad had one when he was a much younger not so young lad, lasted about 12 years. I'd say you'd find buyers on Donedeal handy enough or you could give them to one of the specialist pet stores, they might even give you something for them, e.g.

Reptile Haven, Fishamble St (01) 670 4001
Kinsealy Pet Store (01) 816 9900

We will for sure meet up some day. For now I'm concentrating on my trip to Amsterdam for my 50th in a few weeks time, with my family, hopefully see some other family and a few long lost friends and then come back to face the full wrath of the law for my criminal activities and try to adjust to being a half a century old, driving a taxi, with bills mounting, apps robbing all the work, change car, tax clearance carts, property tax, preliminary tax,  tv licenses, dog licences,  teenagers who wreck your gaf and your head, animals, both with four legs and two and the knowledge your resigned to the pages of history as a pile of ash or dirt and in 50 years everything is different,  if your still alive.

Couldn't be that bad lads....so many do it and survive it. Never appealed to me all that kind of stuff. Although, I know so many who just gave up and turned on themselves when they finally copped they were no longer numero uno with the quare wan. As Mark Twain allegedly said, " dogs look up to us, cats look down on us and pigs treat us are their equals". I'll stick to dogs, I think.

Cheers octy. You should go to Amsterdam.  It would be right up your street with all the museums and art galleries.  It's also right up my street, but for different reasons:) And as for being an aul fella waiting to die, I've been one for years now. As far as my kids are concerned I'm only here to provide free money and free holidays. Other than that I can fcuk right off with myself,  cnuts.

I'm not a drug user at all El Tonio, actually quite the opposite I despise ALL drugs wheter prescription or recreational.
But I will use them if the needs be and fer me back in the day when I used to fly, the solpadine (as recommended) did the trick, possibly it was all in the head.

As I said before the IBTS don't hand these out Willy-Nilly !

I don't see what the big deal is ken, particularly with a short flight like Amsterdam.  You sit in your car for 8,9 or 10 hours at a time yet complain about having to sit on a plane for an hour and 20 minutes.  I normally just have a beer or two on the plane and before you know it you're there.

....was spose to go to the hague to see monet an Amsterdam to see van goch but I chicken out ....terrified flying I am ....cant do it anymore after them max  being flu into ground at 1000 miles an hour an turned the poor cnuts into vapours.....

Fookin hate Flying meself too, It's the Loss of Control over your life that Shites me out, but usually a solpadeine tab dissolved in water calms me down on short flights. I'm after 'Throwing my Hat' in the ring Octy; http://intaxi.org/forum/index.php?topic=10876.msg129986#msg129986 (http://intaxi.org/forum/index.php?topic=10876.msg129986#msg129986)
Will you do the same ?
Because I am looking fer just any excuse to Chicken Out !
And if'n you Chicken out then I will be right behind you !!

You don't know me at all Horse, I am a Terrible Homebird which you don't understand at all. I know I'm a night time Taxi driver and as tough as nails as we all are, Knackers, Puckers, Assaulter's don't knock a spot off me, but to take me out of my Comfort Zone of Cork city is a different story. I DO NOT LIKE LEAVING MY COMFORT ZONE, do you understand that ?

Not really, no. I think you are depriving yourself of one of the greatest pleasures in life,  travel. It's hard to describe the sensation of stepping off a plane in a country you've never been to before.  The new smells, new sounds, different languages and cultures all make for an explosion on the senses. I do love to get out of Dublin but I also love coming back to it.

Here Belker Solphadene is part of the opiate family.Lots of people addicted to them in a bad way. It's a real problem out there. Not meant to calm your nerves.Just use valium like all the other BA Barcuses.

I think Valium is addictive too but it's the one that will work best.Or you could have a few pints like a normal person.
