A 16-YEAR-OLD boy held a knife against a taxi driver’s neck and threatened to “cut his head off” during a terrifying incident in Dublin, a court has heard.
The teenager was convicted of production of a knife as a weapon and threatening to kill or cause serious harm on 22 October 2018. He was also guilty of possessing a flick knife on a later date.
Judge Treasa Kelly described the incident today as “horrendous”, as she adjourned sentencing at the Dublin Children’s Court for the accused to complete an anger-management course.
Garda Barry Brennan told the court the taxi driver collected the youth and his girlfriend who was dropped off first, in Ballinteer, Dublin 16.
The taxi man sought payment but was asked to bring the teen to Tallaght and there was an argument.
The boy then “produced a large knife and held it against the neck of the taxi driver and threatened to cut him up”.
They got out of the car and a scuffle ensued as the driver tried to alert gardai but his phone got cut off.

What difference would naming them make ?Do you think they might be ashamed of themselves if we knew who they were?

"My client sincerely apologies for his behaviour and cannot explain his actions, It was out of character.
He has had a troubled life blah blah blah.
Outcome,
Suspended sentence and ordered to keep the peace for 3 years.
Driver meanwhile, is so traumatised that he cannot go back to work.

Correct Justin. I've always said those exact words. It's an absolute joke in this kip. But hey, that anger management course should do the trick. He'll be on the straight and narrow when he completes it. Probably divert his energies into charitable work in the spare time he has when he's finished his nine to five.
The Muslim countries have the right idea when it comes to justice. Our glorious leaders are always going on about "international best practice".
They missed that one.

Yes but a few years ago a man got six years (reduced to two on appeal) for underpayment of vat on imported garlic. There's something wrong somewhere.

Like the tv licence, rob anyone you like but not the government. Mad you can and will get locked up for not paying Ryan Tubridys next round of drinks when he's on holliers yet these freaks get protection.

The runt is 18 now.
I know a few people doing time would like to meet him, and possibly do something "Out of character".
