Title: Champions league 'Buster'.
Post by: Belker on November 01, 2021, 01:16:15 pm
I was thinking of running this 'Buster' type competition fer the Champions league.
5 players at a 'Bag a Sand' a head each getting 3 of the top 15 teams +.

Selected Players are myself, Korky, Stephen, John M and 'Octy'.
It would give us all an interest over the winter and the final is on Sat May 28th.

I have made the draw already (without permission), but I'm sure everyone is in !

Pool 1.
1 Man City, 7/2.
2 Bayern Munich, 4/1.
3 PSG, 9/2.
4 Liverpool, 7/1.
5 Chelsea, 8/1.

Pool 2.
6 Man Utd, 14/1.
7 Real Madrid, 20/1.
8 Ajax, 22/1.
9 Juventus, 25/1.
10 Athletico Madrid, 33/1.

Pool 3.
11 Borussia Dortmund, 33/1.
12 Barcelona, 50/1.
13 Inter Milan, 66/1.
14 Sevilla, 80/1.
15 Atalanta, 100/1.

Player A gets top pick in Pool 1 and last pick in pools 2 & 3.
Player B gets 2nd pick in Pool 1 and 2nd last pick in Pools 2 & 3, Etc...
Players D & E get a few add-ons to make it square so as everyone has about a 5 in 1 chance of winning,
No Tax, No Commission, just a straight up bet.

So drawn very fairly from an actual hat;
Player A is 'Octy' and he gets teams, 1, 10 and 15. (22.5 % chance of winning)
Player B is John M and he gets teams, 2, 9 and 14. (21.5 %)
Player C is Ken/Belker and he gets teams 3, 8 and 13. (20%)
Player D is Korky/Muiris and he gets teams 4, 7 and 12. And throw in F.C. Salzburg (200/1) and Benifica (200/1) to make up the numbers. (18%)
Player E is Ratcatcher and he gets teams 5, 6 and 11, and all the remaining 15 non named 'Rags'. (18%).

I think that Ratcatcher and Korky got the best results last night with both Chelsea and Barcelona winning away from home.

Korky again got the pick of the results last night with both Liverpool and Real Madrid winning.
Inter and Ajax did me a few favours aswell.

Apologies Cool's, at a 'Bag a Sand' a head I didn't expect too much forum interest.
But I know all the lads personally and they are all up fer it.

Pool 1.
1 Man City, 7/2.
2 Bayern Munich, 4/1.
3 PSG, 9/2. 11/2.
4 Liverpool, 7/1. 11/2.
5 Chelsea, 8/1.

Pool 2.
6 Man Utd, 14/1. 16/1.
7 Real Madrid, 20/1.
8 Ajax, 22/1. 20/1.
9 Juventus, 25/1.
10 Athletico Madrid, 33/1.
Most likely the winner will come from Pool 1, or maybe Pool 2, except fer a huge surprise.
All players have 1 team in each of Pools 1 and 2.

The Players and Teams;
Octy; Man City, Athletico Madrid, Atalanta.
John M; Bayern Munich, Juventus, Sevilla.
Ken/Belker; PSG, Ajax, Inter Milan.
Korky/Muiris; Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona + F.C. Salzburg and Benifica.
Ratcatcher; Chelsea, Man Utd, Borussia Dortmund + all the remaining 15 non named 'Rags'.
Title: Re: Champions league 'Buster'.

Korky/Muiris had the best of the results in the last round with all his main 3 teams winning, and just by a fraction he might now be the Fav to win, but it is still wide open with an about 1 in 5 chance of anyone winning it.
No Tax, No Commission, just a straight up bet fer all.

Abramovitch has been sanctioned Chelsea players will be heading for the door worrying where their wages will be coming from .Chelsea might continue to play ball but can they trade commercially if Abramovitch is on the naughty step .Same with Everton .I remember posting a year or two ago Chelsea might be relegated from the prem if Abramovitch failed to honour debts .Might be a clever bet if they are big odds for Chelsea to be relegated .If he is sanctioned he cannot sell the club or buy players .Looking forward to Chelsea V Coventry in the Rymans League .They could be fucked out of the League if they dont pay their debts .

You (Ratcatcher) just have Chelsea against the dominant Korky's 2nd team Real Madrid and that is an Even money bet on who goes through, if you overcome him then you are kinda back in the hunt proper. Your other team the minnows of Villarreal face John M's mighty Bayern on a David Vs Goliath battle.

Octy got the shite draw by squaring up to his own Athletico Madrid.

Korky got the plum draw with Liverpool Vs the minnows of Benefica, and a chance fer Real Madrid to rename themselves if'n they can get over Chelsea, and both his teams drawn in opposite halves so they can only meet in the final.

Korky will be the new fav once the betting markets stabilse.

They are playing, but Man city, Liverpool and Bayern are all 10's on chances to overcome their opposition.

No major news last night, Liverpool did the job with a 3-1 away win and Man city won 1-0 at home in the first legs.
Big game tonight is Chelsea v Real Madrid.

Big shocker last night with John M's Bayern biting the dust to Rat Catchers minnows of Villareal.

And Korky's Real Madrid just about hanging on after a spirited comeback from Chelsea.

John M joins me on the sidelines, Korky will be the new odds-on favourite.

Korky's Liverpool did the business last night with a 3-2 win to go through to the final on Sat 28th May.
And Rats joins myself and John M on the sidelines.

Octy's Man city surprisingly bit the dust last night losing the tie 6-5 on aggregate to Real Madrid.

And making Korky the winner with both his Real Madrid and Liverpool contesting the final.

As long as the final is actually played then Korky is the winner, settle-up be on Sun 29th May.

What happened to Chelsea?
They lost their 1st leg quarter final tie in Stamford bridge (1-3) to a rejuvenated Real Madrid.
Then Won the away leg (1-3) away from home after 90 minutes in the Bernabeu to make it a draw.
BUT...  Real Madrid scored 1 more in extra time to win the tie.
