Good to see the Gardai taking a taxi incident very seriousely, helicopter n all.
Just a pity that when it gets to court, then most likely it will be suspended sentences all round.

Never mind the gard he can be replaced
The car looks wrecked poor driver cud be still payin for it
-
Like the Gardai made him buy a gaff in Finglas!
-
Write off ::fight ::rant,can he claim the uninsured drivers fund?
-
He can. If he's fully comp his own insurance will pay and recover it, otherwise he could be waiting for a while.
-
2.30 am on Ballyboggan Rd....head er on!!
-
will that chap be hammered now insurance wise for having the cheek to be hijacked and have his car bollixed by scum.
-
Theoretically he shouldn't as the insurance company ought to be able to recover it's settlement from the uninsured drivers fund. In practice I'd say he will be screwed.
-
Wrong the cover injurys not damage to cars
My car wrecked halaween nite 4 yr ago I got whiplash but had to pay for car damage myself
-
They paid both when I was hit buy an uninsured driver back in 2014. Get back on to your brief.

Vehicle/Property Damage Claims:
Vehicle/property claims are covered under the MIBI compensation scheme however the alleged offending vehicle must be identified by means of a valid registration plate. In instances where the alleged offending vehicle cannot be identified MIBI has no liability to pay compensation for vehicle/property damage unless there are significant personal injuries arising from the same accident. In certain circumstances an excess may apply to vehicle/property damage claims e.g. an excess of €220 applies to vehicle claims, where the offending vehicle was stolen at the time the incident occurred.
In my case the vehicle was identified and there were significant personal injuries.
