West Dublin residents are being urged to check their bank accounts after two men were arrested on suspicion of theft from a local ATM.
Gardai nicked the two men at the Ulster Bank ATM in Palmerstown Village at around 6:50pm on Wednesday evening.
The Palmerstown Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page claimed the men were "in the process of installing a skimming machine" and have urged locals to double check and see if any money has gone missing.
"If you have used the ATM, please check your account and contact your bank if necessary," they added.
"Advisable to avoid others in the area also and please notify Gardai immediately if you spot anything unusual."
Gardai confirmed the arrests to Dublin Live and said the two men are currently being held in Clondalkin Garda Station.
They told Dublin Live: "GardaĆ in Ballyfermot arrested two men this evening, Wednesday 24 February, 2021 at approximately 6.50p.m. in relation to an incident of theft.
"They are currently detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Clondalkin Garda station. Investigations ongoing."
