I was reading another article suggesting that EU regulations don't require testing for a whole host of potentially harmful substances, the implication being that regardless of published ratings, all of our coastal waters are cesspits. Disappointing really, as an occasional sea swimmer I always check that the latest rating is excellent... now I'm told that means fuck all.
If I was a more regular sea swimmer I think I'd invest in a decent quality wet suit... I guess that might keep the cold out too?
