Mr Veradkar doing another BACKPASSAGE deal
« on: June 15, 2022, 09:23:08 am »
Bill Browder, the financier and political activist who is a long-time critic of the Kremlin, has criticised Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe for meeting with a UK Conservative life peer to discuss his plan to take over the Aughinish Alumina refinery in Limerick.

In an interview with the Irish Independent, Mr Browder said the meeting at government buildings on March 21 between the Irish ministers and Greg Barker, a former British government minister and chairman of the aluminium firm EN+ controlled by Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, “clearly stinks” for everyone involved.

We are getting like Britain and America .The Government can do deals with Russian Oligarcs and British Prime ministers and Foreign house buyers but if you speak out and tell the truth you Fucking offend somebody .

Ministers were left furious at President Michael D Higgins for describing housing policy in Ireland as our “great, great failure”.

In a remarkable souring of relations between the Áras and Leinster House, Mr Higgins was accused last night of having “crossed the line” and of standing on “high moral quicksand” by senior coalition figures.

Dublin Pride has terminated its media partnership with RTÉ “with immediate effect” due to what it termed “unacceptable, triggering and extremely harmful anti-trans discussions” on Joe Duffy’s Liveline.

The LGBTQ+ movement said that it was “angered and disappointed” with the recent discussions around trans people on the RTÉ Radio 1 show and said, “as Ireland’s national broadcaster, we expect better than for RTÉ to stoke the flames of anti-trans rhetoric”.
