Anybody book an NCT recently in Dublin?  Is there much of a waiting time for taxis?

TIA  :D

Taxi NCT should only take a week or so if you're not too fussy where to book in.

Just checked I rang up on the 28 May and got an appointment for the 6 June in Northpoint.

Thanks  ::clap

Normally you have a max 90 day window between the NCT and the Suitability/LRA.  Not sure how I did it but when I got my new EV a few years back, I ended up with only about a months window for me to do the NCT before the LRA.  So I have to be careful with the timings.  It's a shame you can't book it online 'cause then you could keep an eye on spare slots in the test centres.

Just looked at Northpoint with a private car.  They've a couple of slots in July and then nothing officially until Oct!

Never much of a wait in my experience. Last time I could choose my own date and time without restriction... all while Joe Duffy did be tellin us how peeeple do be waitin years.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Old habits.  I used to have a 15yr old Octavia so I got into the habit of leaving enough room for a retest  8)

Finally got around to booking my NCT.  Seems like I had the whole of next week to choose from so it seems like there's no delay at all at all.

Seem funny that we still have to phone in to get a booking.  Didn't get asked for my super secret CCSN or anything.  It can't be a database thing because afterwards, NCT sent me a payment link via email and once I went to payment page, I just entered my car reg and it knew who I was and just asked for the money.

I think you can still pay cash for the NCT.... I did for Mrs. Catcher's a couple of months back anyway.
