Off topic... psv are issuing the old brass drivers badges again to new license holders... I always liked them, glad they’re back.
Still have mine C1235. Brass. Kit the Chromer used to plate them if you were of a mind.

I wonder if RC could look up Mr McGroary's sorry, James Anthony's file and see what sort of cars he bought every year?

It's not difficult, Watty. Press Database, type or paste the name, press enter.... Click plate number for recorded history:

Maybe I'm being stupid but is a licence number 32368 not a bit high for someone who was...

I thought anything below (very approx) 20k was pre-dereg?

Maybe he was a secret lotto winner?

Might have stuck with the Hackney until the last recession hit or thereabouts?

Fair play to you for automating things but it's a bit worrying that the NTA puts so much information about us online for anyone to see!

I think it's for passenger safety. The unions keep telling anyone that'll listen that thousands of taxi drivers have serious criminal records, not to mention the millions with unverifiable histories.

If it's for passenger safety, then there should be a checkbox for 'criminal record' or 'penalty points'?

Knowing someone's name, what they look like, and their taxi details could give a bad guy a good start on stealing or impersonating your identity?

True enough but the theory is that a passenger can share details of the taxi they're travelling in with someone who might notice if they go missing, I guess. It would be a good idea to show penalty points on the app so passengers concerned with driving skills could avoid travelling with dangerous drivers.

Hail0 published a lot more detail for potential identity theft, including copies of drivers' licences (including name and address) and bank account details.

If someone impersonated RC, I'd be suing the Plastic Surgeon! 8)
