Election on the way ?
« on: November 05, 2018, 06:44:42 am »
Not meaning to get the Erm going, But !

The vast majority of the roads in Cork city suburbs have been blitzed by resurfacing in the last week, it was long overdue as these roads had been in a horrendous condition fer the last few years and then all of a sudden the whole lot are done within a week ??

I reckon it is Election time and Fine Gael don't want to be knocking on doors to be told; "Fix de Fookin road outside" !
They would rather be knocking on doors and saying; "Sure, didn't we fix all yere roads fer ye !".

Micheal Lowery (De Kount from Tipp) taught em all, keep the roads sweet and you get elected every time !
The Healy-Rea's in Kerry copped on and followed suit.
It took Fine Geal a bit longer to grasp it, but they have the idea now.

Not that it matters to me but fer John M's interest, the crowd doing all the road resurfacing work in Cork are from Lagan developments.
The Lagan river which runs through Belfast assumes to me that it was a Northern Ireland company doing the road work and a few of the workers I spoke with in South Douglas all spoke with Nordy accents.

They have a budget to use up Ken. If they don't use it up they get fuck all next year. I was talking to an engineer whose involved in resurfacing the roads in Dublin. They're resurfacing a stretch of road in swords at the cost of a few million even though they know it's to be ripped back up next year. There's fuck all wrong with the road they're doing tbh there's way worse roads in swords that they could be doing. An awful waste of money.

All their vans had Irish plates but I spoke with Two workers to ask what time they would be finishing and both had distinct Nordy accents.
They sure made a lorra noise right in the middle of the night in a built up resedential area, they started at 10.30pm and finished at 4.30am.
