An investigation is under way into the death of a man whose body was found at a house in Dublin.

The body of the man, who was in his 50s, was found at his home on St Michael’s Road in Drumcondra.

The discovery was made following a call to gardaí that a number of men were attempting to break into a house at around 11pm last night.

When gardaí arrived at the scene there were no other people present, and the man’s body was subsequently found.

The scene has been sealed off, however it is understood there may not be a connection between the incident that gardaí were alerted to and the death of the man.

Neighbours say the man, believed to be originally from Dublin, had lived in the area for some time.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 6668602, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or at any garda station.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
