FREE NOW Driver Responsibilities
Hi Stephen,
Recent Garda statistics have shown that online and card fraud has increased by 50% during Covid-19. In the interest of reducing fraud, FREE NOW would like to remind/notify you of your responsibilities as a FREE NOW driver.
Your Responsibilities:
• Only put through metered fare - i.e. do not process fares for a higher value than what is shown on your Taxi meter. Do not process Cashback in any circumstances.
• Do not process fares upfront - fares must only be processed at the end of the journey.
• Pickup Rule - Only pickup within 200 metres of the Pickup Location - do not travel from the Pickup Point to another destination to collect the passenger, if contacted by the passenger.
• When completing 'Pay with FREE NOW' bookings, you must follow the correct process before commencing the journey - this will enable us to verify the validity of the trip (e.g. distance travelled, fare price, etc...)
Tips for completing a ‘Pay with FREE NOW’ booking
• When picking a passenger off the street, ask them their intended payment method.
• Start the ‘Pay with FREE NOW’ booking at the beginning of the journey, enter the destination, and keep the trip “live” for the entire journey.
• At the end of the journey, only enter the metered fare.
Important note:
In the event there is proof that a trip does not comply with these responsibilities, FREE NOW is allowed to withhold, recover or deny the payment. FREE NOW may only pay a reasonable estimate of the fare (if at all). FREE NOW may also sanction drivers with suspensions, potentially leading to termination.

Finally, FREE NOW will only accept FREE NOW trip data as proof of a completed journey. We will not accept taxi meter receipts.
