Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Clondalkin Garda Station

A pedestrian has died after a road traffic incident in Co Dublin.

The man, who was in his 40s, was seriously injured in the incident involving a car, which happened at around 11pm on Peamount Road in Newcastle.

He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, but later died of his injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

The road was closed for a technical examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Any road users with relevant video footage are asked to make this available to gardaí.

If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
