Flooding in Dublin

A major flood in the usual spot on the Kilbarrack Road under the Howth junction bridge. In typical Irish fashion, the Fire service only notified motorists about 50 metres from the flood. This caused traffic to come to a standstill all around Donaghmede, Kilbarrack, Raheny, and Bayside.

Had they warned motorists at the Grange Road/Tonlegee junction things might have been different.

I did a detour around Raheny, approaching Denis Mahony through Foxfield. That too was flooded. I drove through with my fingers crossed and my butt clenched. And all for a €13 filter!

The guy in the parts dept was a huge, helpful Polack. The chap who fitted my wiper blades from Consort told me they don't stock the particular filter and that Toyota was the best bit, which proved true.

P.s Eddie is still working in Consort in Drumcondra at the ripe old age of 77. He celebrated 50 years serving the motor trade only recently. Better than Halford's that's for sure.
