Vehicle Age Extension
« on: January 05, 2023, 06:38:56 pm »
My vehicle licence is due to expire at the end of January.

I contacted the NTA who said although the licence is four months old it must resit the NCTS as
they only allow for a 90 day window.

My NCTS was in late August so over the 90-day window.

They gave me a date of next Tuesday to do the NCTS again. If I pass then I can also book in a test  resit straight away.

All things being equal, my licences will all match up after suitability and the heap will be good until January 2026.

The previous NCTS/Suitability was free. To re-licence under the new T&Cs the old price structure comes back into play.

Hardly a big deal to pay €55 fer an NCT and €75 fer Suitability to keep an old depeciation free banger on the road !
