There are 5 major religions in the world and they can't all be right.  So Islam has a 1 in 5 chance of being right.  Same odds as Christianity.
Judaism, christianity and Islam share the same origins i.e abraham ( not the american) as their main father. The main point of departure is when Jews rejected Jesus and christianity didn’t recognise Mohamed. Qoran to be fair recognised all. So almost two thirds of the world’s population believe in the same thing bar few differences.


Problem is each group has a hard core that believes those "few differences" are enough to kill the non-believers...  The American Christians are looking to start WW3 so they can speed up the day of judgment.  The Sunni and Shia muslims are happy to kill each other.  The Jewish people are fairly, err, thin-skinned (& nobody could really blame them, eg, the Holocaust).  The Hindu's in India are ramping up their persecution of non-Hindu's.  The list goes on and on.

The Muslim was praising an Atheist for his Humanist approach, I guess he's playing the long game. 8)
