Another One Bites The Dust
« on: August 23, 2024, 11:36:55 am »
No more money back as free bet tenners or BOG or realistic stakes from LiveScoreBet for me of a Saturday.

My net withdrawals from the relevant account amounts to a paltry €579.70 over a period of 2+ years. How these parasites - not just LSB, all licensed bookmakers operating in Ireland either physically or virtually with the sole exception of Bet 365 - are licensed defies belief.

I don't know why you single out "bookmakers operating in Ireland", do you think it's any different anywhere else ?

They are in the game to make money, not to lose it !!

As stated before the only way to beat them is with multiple CC accounts, or possibly 'Shoe-leather' !
Surely you could find a trusted friend or relative to allow you use of their account,
PS. they must not reside in the same address as you.

This is an excerpt from Gerry's Scam, a tale that I put a lot of thought in to mostly from experience in the game;

First order of business fer Gerry was to find himself a 'Patsy' someone other than himself, someone with a half decent record and no interest in the gambling game, he immediately thought of his mate Tommy 'No Balls' who was fresh out of prison. He called to Tommy's home and managed to coerce Tommy in to opening a brand-new bank account in his own name and offering him a €100 start up fee and another €100 a week fer the next 2 weeks after, and €50 a week fer the next 9 weeks after that, and a  €250 sign off bonus when he closed his bank account after the 12 weeks, provided he stuck to the rules. Tommy agreed in principle.
Then Gerry explained the rules to him, "Firstly you open the bank account in your own name but you put the initial of your second name on the bank account, as in you open it as 'Thomas B Coleman' and any mail that comes through your letterbox marked as 'Thomas B Coleman' then you ring me and I will collect it and it must be UNOPENED. I also need a photo of a utility bill of yours and a photo of your drivers license or passport, and that's about it until we finish it up in 3 months time". Tommy agreed. Gerry told him to get all his I.D. bits together and walked with him to the bank. Gerry waited outside as Tommy did exactly as instructed in the bank and Gerry paid him the start-up fee of €100 in cash and warned him to keep his gob shut.

I chose bookmakers operating in Ireland because I live in Ireland. I also hold a licence to operate a taxi in Ireland under the terms of which I am not allowed refuse fares simply because they're not profitable.

If they can make a book they should be able to make money, Ken. I shouldn't have to explain the art of bookmaking to you given your background but they bet to a margin, often as high as 50% and adjust prices to maintain that margin regardless of the outcome of any race/event. That is what they are licensed to do and that is what they should be required to do... or their licences should be revoked.... simples!

Multiple accounts would only result in multiple accounts being closed. The policy these parasites follow is simply to ban any client who doesn't lose money.

Does that not only apply if parked at a taxi rank?

It applies if plying or standing for hire. Bookmakers by offering odds are plying their trade and "standing for hire" as it were on our high streets and on tinternet.

The bookies don't owe you anything.  I've read a few cases over the years where punters have sued the bookies for what they thought should be a large payout.  But the courts have ruled the whole ediface is just a gentlemen's agreement and if the bookies don't feel like paying, tough sh1t  :o

True but what I'm questioning is why our Govt chooses to licence these parasites.

Why does the Govt licence and restrict anything - to control it and make money?
