Your driving YOUR car with YOUR Camera .So who owns the DATA YOu COLLECTED ?Will an Insurance Company pay you lets say 500 for YOUR Data to prove who caused an accident you are not involved in .It could save them thousands in Claims and Legal Fees .

It could be worser.  The Guards already know your mobile number and could get a list of all taxi drivers within a mile of a crime/assault.  Imagine then getting a text message Monday morning to turn up at a Garda Station so your footage could be downloaded.  You'd probably have to go to court as a witness to prove the chain of custody of the video footage.  You'd be the weak link in the custody chain if the bad guys were looking for a weak link to break!

Now imagine working nights in the city centre and getting a text message every Monday morning for the fight outside Pub  X or Chipper Y!

We know from America and the UK that police tend to abuse their mass surveillance powers so it could happen here?

Ha!  Buried my uncle on Monday.  Funeral was broadcast live on the internet and the Church had CCTV  ::fds  What's the universe coming to when God needs security cameras?

I watched a friend's funeral on the internet because of Covid-19 restrictions. I then drove to the church to watch the small cortege pass by.
