Nodgers logic works on an analogue motor.

Time was 1/3 of a vehicles repair cost was enough to send a heep to the scrappers ifn it was in a rta.

Have a rta in a 5 year old heep or newer, between modules, part costs and sensors even the smallest tip could write off a yoke.

Again not a ev or Ice specific problem it’s all new-er cars now.

+1.  EV's are lovely to drive but you're at the mercy of the garages if something goes wrong.  And I don't like that  >:D

I might hedge my bets the next time and get a hybrid.  I used to think you were doubling the trouble with 2 engines but you might be doubling your chances of staying on the road and earning a living?

I think the paint is very thin.

Some/most cars have vents/pipes running from the top of the engine bay to the bottom to let water drain away.  Sometimes leaves etc get clogged up and that might be causing the rust?  Maybe see if those vents (if we have them) are blocked.  If there was rust problems, I think the UK fan site would have mentioned it already - they salt their roads like crazy.

I spoke too soon - 50/50 on whether rust is a problem - Is rust a problem on early MG5s?

Light bulb for an ID4 is c.€1,500 -vs- €4 for my MKIII Octy. The whole world is gone mad, so it is.
He's driving a Chinese MG5, keep up man!

Is she petrol or diesel?

Changing the model is what put the MG5 off my radar when I was seriously considering going EV to avail of the last round of grant aid. As I said at the time the big plus is Watty's experience - which I reckon is shared by the vast majority of MG5 owners - i.e. a pretty much trouble free yoke that'll do the job for relatively small money (small money after grant aid compared to a 5/6yo diesel car).

As per this thread there's plenty of MG5s in scrapyards so I doubt there'd be any great difficulty sourcing parts unless you're committed to getting a job done under warranty. I doubt there's as many scrap MGS5s about as they're new so that is a minus in my mind as is the smaller boot size and the fact that MG restrict the battery warranty to 3 years for taxis as opposed to 7 years for private cars. Still, they're c.€8,000 cheaper than an ID4 or BZ4X so you'd still have to quantify and weigh up the value of an extended battery warranty and perceived relative confidence in a locally established brand, I guess. It's all new tech so certainly not as straightforward as concluding that Toyota make the best Hybrids and VAG make the best diesels.

What's the issue you're having with the Radio Module... is that just the normal AM/FM wireless?

Watty already posted the Link I took the time to read it on behalf of our  Huge membership and quote it .Did not think Repetition was necessary as most on here posses the intellect to cross reference .

In that case it's already there in the required format, erm. If you reckon folk need you to read for them just tell them what you read in your own words or include the link if copying/pasting.
