Well done DM. Great respect fer that story.
It actually gaulled me a few weeks ago when the Daily Mirror reported and highlighted all the taxi complaints,
I'm sure your tale won't ever appear in any newspaper and neither will any of mine.
We all as night time taxi drivers also offer a duty of service to the public and the vast majority of us do it on a
nightly basis watching drunk single females to make sure they open their front door before leaving, or anything
and everything else under the sun to accomodate our drunk passengers as best we can, with little or no thanks.
And to see the Daily Mirror trying to slate us was a Slap in de Puss to me !
Over the years as a night time driver I have assisted many in need, much too many too mention,
I ask fer no thanks, I ask fer no payment, but I don't want to be slagged off by the press fer doing it.
To mention just a few;
Assisted in dragging a suicidal young man out of the river Lee one morning.
Assisted in dragging a suicidal man back over the railing of the river Lee another morning.
Flagged down a Tractor one night and requested he take my drunk young female passenger
through the floodwaters to her home.
Kinda refused to let a mature drunk man knock on his ex-wifes home at 4am so as to see
his Seven year old daughter.
