You both should have stuck with the drums.....serious shortage of them everywhere. Must be great to get paid for doing something you enjoy or love. They said the machines would render them irrelevant......hasn't happened.

Need a set of tubes on you for the Sax and Trumpet............best to start on the smaller wind instruments, I think. Played the tin whistle and recorder yrs ago..mind you, I could cycle from Dublin to Cavan back then.

I did a few gigs with a cover band many moons ago...played the Big Tree a few times...i thought that's what i wanted to do but as Octy says it does become a bit samey and you wouldn't be making that much per gig...certainly not a Sat nights takings....wedding bands can command big money...there's an outfit called The Bently Boys....they're actually a company, they could have 100 or more musicians,my nephew(in law) had them last year....€5000 for the night.

Jaysus you wouldn't get that in a week in the cab, not even during the silly season.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

As i said RC,it's a company...the musicians themselves would probably be only getting a wage plus travel,my niece(in law) has them booked for her wedding in Donegal next year, probably a completely different set of musicians under The Bentley Boys name.

Friend plays the drums but he supplements his income with a few hours doing deliveries.
