I dont understand.if its now MANDATORY for us to offer such facilities, then how can you refuse ?

Sorry boss,it's not workin....

Apology accepted bud/bro... but I don't carry cash and you're not legally entitled to cash. Take the fare off my card and/or go fuck yourself.

Establish that before the journey commences ,tell them your machine is kaput so it's either cash or ATM or gas, grass or ass as an alternative.

The point is,the use of CC facilities by a driver should be optional, buy NOT because the NTA say we have to.this is completely illegal for them to try an enforce method of paymemt on us,that some would rather not use.I for one will make it my business to take legal advice on if TTNH ate not going to

So will TTNH oppose this unjust, illegal instruction from the NTA to drivers that the must offer CC facilities ?
Don't know DM, are you a member, have you the right to tell them what to do. Maybe make a stand yourself rather than keyboard. A strong letter to the Times first and then a letter to NTA confirming your refusal to take ccs.

I suppose its a bit like us having to have a first aid kit, how many of us actually know what to do with it or want to know for that matter ?

Fckn silly rule, it should have been mandatory for us all to have a first aid course at least, but then again maybe the NTA know best

Im not so much down on F/N as I am on those radio dispatch bastards who treat the drivers like they were employees.how fukkin dare they treat drivers the way they do by making them wear uniforms,(which they must pay for) offer discounts to the customers (at the drivers ) expense ,and here is the one that REALLY kills me.actually TAKING DISCIPLINARY ACTION against drivers if they dont fall in line.I dont know who I blame more ,them for introducing such shite, or the drivers for putting up with it.when you think about it,the DRIVERS employ those cunts simply to provide work nothing else, yet here are the drivers allowing their businesses to be dictated to

As far as disciplinary action goes drivers probably get away with a lot more with Irish dispatch firms than they would with Free Now. It's probably a cultural thing... the Irish see rules more as guidelines whereas the Germans and British are a lot more literal. A boss (kinda boss, I was actually self-employed) of mine across the water explained it to me as follows... If you put up a simple sign in the London office which says "Jackets must not be hung on the backs of seats" there would be no jackets hung on seats but if you done the same in the Dublin office the jackets will be on the backs of seats as normal and someone might go to the trouble of asking why you made such a "proposal". Anywaysanall, Free Now doesn't take any shit from drivers... break the rules and you will be sacked.

Establish that before the journey commences ,tell them your machine is kaput so it's either cash or ATM or gas, grass or ass as an alternative.

So, you're gonna have to ask every passenger how he intends to pay before you move. Even at that you're gonna end up being reported to NTA by every disgruntled card payer you refuse... and what about the lads on the (unofficial) rank behind you, if they see you fuck the passenger out they're gonna hit the central locking and refuse them too... or at least encourage them to report you. No doubt we'll be hearing about all dem blax not taking card customers anall...

Well I was 100% right ......I was in in the city from 8pm  till 4.45am.I counted 14 FREENOW ,1 FLAG, 4 TAXY and 2 MYTAXI.A few weeks ago they were everywhere FREENOW cars.As far a I could see Breadvans were ALL stripped of branding only odd one branding .Obviously your hailed and you pay 15% am I right????.Or drivers dont want FREENOW.Bill will be very angry. The NTA got a illegal taxi tonight on westmorland st they going around now like Garda with yolks hanging off there belts rofl.He put the Taxi roofsign in the NTA patrol car.

I joined Taxy myself. Had it running in the background for my entire shift last night (3 hours) and didn't get any job offers. I won't run it tonight on account of the Free Now bonus but I'll keep trying it after that. Anyone else using it?

Can't find a non Free Now job for love or money myself if it's any way busy. Dunno what I'm doing wrong, I leave the light on after accepting every job with a view to cancelling if flagged but I'm just not being flagged of a Friday, Saturday or Sunday (& Monday this week). I'll give Taxy a try for a while, if I'm still getting nothing off that I'll go back to Uber as my secondary app.

Specifically on Taxy, D2018 -

Are you running it in the foreground i.e. do you keep it visible on your screen?
Where you number 1 on the parking every time you got a job (or did you notice)? i.e. are jobs dispatched to the first parked driver or nearest car?

I am, DM. I drive around the Northside suburbs with the light on, I'm just not getting flagged, particularly at weekends it's all app work.

P.S. I washed the car (outside) on the way home last night so at least the racists should be able to see that I'm white while I'm driving around tonight... maybe that'll help... but I think the main problem is I can't drive for much more than a mile without a Free Now offer but, like I said, I'm still hunting after accepting. It'd be crazy to reject jobs with non city northside destinations.... a bird in the bed and all that...
