Have to disagree with ya there Octavia, a 2017 and newer diesel runs rings around it. The Prius is overrated and the batteries are not ecologically friendly. I've a nice simple 1.6 diesel never failed emissions never had injector, turbo, egr or dpf problems with 400,000kmon it, it just starts up does a 8 or 12 hour shift and its filled up every 6 to eight days after about 900 to 1200kms depending on the runs I do.

Whatya got?  Always wondered about the 1.6 diesels - are they 'strong' enough with 4 rugby/fat people onboard?

@watty its a Citroen C5 estate 1.6 120hp, about the same as my 03 2lt C5, it grand its Torquay I've had 4 Connacht rugby guys in it bringing them  from training, it pulls ok, its not a rocket but once you get into 3rd it takes off, but id rather a 2 litre they were hard got in 2 litre, when I was looking that time every one I called up about it was sorry its sold. The new C5 saloon is out in 2021 but I think it will be hybrid or full EV not for me, they stopped making the current one in 2017. So the next one will be a 2017 2ltr C5 estate with full hydromantic suspension from the uk or a 2ltr Peugeot 508 estate both 180 HP.

yur c5 diesel actually produces less pollution than a present day electric car c5 ...the ideal for me wud be an electric vehicle running on power produced entirely tru renewable energy an excluding nuclear power the stuff of nightmares......
We are along way off that ....the prius is a compromise

The poor aul Prius gets a lot of hate..I never understood it..even though its the same hybrid system in most of the other Toyotas and all of the lexus range.Doesnt make sense.

So now Toyota have built the Corolla that's actually a saloon Prius with a few minor changes and it's probably the best selling car in the country.Mad stuff.

Thanks.  I guessed it was a C5 based on your name  ;)  but the new C5 looks like a SUV.   The 508 looks alright.

@watty, I know thats why the previous saloon was stopped to give this C5 aircross a chance, I'm not into SUV cars. But there is a big saloon coming in 2021, not sure what they'll call it. Its like Toyota with the avensis and avensis verso, corolla and corolla verso. Suv's make no sense, an Mpv (multi purpose vehicle) is more practical 7 seats or 6 seats and a L shape boot or 5 seats and a huge boot or all seats down its a van plus your high up. Me I like estates they are practical and you can get fast powerful ones. The 2020 estate version is a looker.
