Here is a story fer the old timer punters on here, forgive me if the dates and names are incorrect but you will get the jist of it.
Back in the day all the bookies had fer tills were the old Anker F7's which were a work horse of a till.

But all it printed on the docket was the day and month, shop code ("7" fer the Maylor street branch) and docket number, which did a fine job fer many years. The 2 or 3 tills numbers were in different ink colours ranged from Zero to 9999, which would turn over every 2 or 3 weeks or so.
Then Greece won the Eurovision song contest in circa 2005 and a fella walks in to the Maylor street branch the next day and slaps his docket on the counter;
10 Euro, Greece, Eurovision @ 6/1.The docket was in perfect condition and had been stamped the day before on the Blue till, the docket number was circa 7000 but the Blue till numbers on that day were circa 2000, then the manager checked the Black till and the numbers were in the 9000's, everyone is scratching their heads as the date and shop code matched but totally impossible to have a 7000 till number on that day.
Then the manager got a brainwave and checked back on the old pay-out books, Two years earlier the 7000 Blue till docket numbers would have matched, by the time he found out about the Con and went to confront yer-man-o he was long gone.
The bet had been placed in 2003 but he held on to the docket till Greece won in 2005 as there was no year printed on the docket.
