Fair play to the passenger for reporting the piece of $hit. The amount of times  I have heard of people being charged double the price by crooked taxi drivers. The response when I ask them did they report them. "no I didn't bother"

I think the problem is the passenger basically needs a receipt and many don't ask.  Then the NTA asks you upfront if you'll go to court as a witness.  The court thing puts most people off.  But in a lot of these cases, the taxi driver seems to admit it upfront when they're confronted by the NTA so maybe the NTA should do a bit of investigation first before they ask passenger to stand as a witness?

Can never understand when passengers who are being ripped off, see that they are being ripped off and say nothing to the driver at the time.
They more often than not go on to social media and complain  ::)

Being shouted at by a menacing cabbie usually yields a crisp €50 for the driver. The passenger just wanting to get out of there.

was in a taxi in Dublin lately and the driver had an extra euro added for some reason, I don't care about 1 euro but I had to pull him up on it, he says oh yeah that is supposed to be 1 euro not 2. foreign driver. if he hadn't tried to be sneaky I would have given him a good tip.

anyway back to this robbing baxterd, its a disgrace that he doesnt lose his licence after pulling this kind of stunt and giving us all a bad name, no wonder half the country think we are ripping them off.

You would think he could have just asked for his acting job back, instead of robbing innocent customers.

1. Tell her to fuck off out of the car quick
2. Give the yoke three euro
3. Just look at the yoke as if to say are ye for fuckin real there Meatloaf
4. floor it to the nearest police station to gain payment and to run the meter up even more
5. see what gaff they go in and stick a huge inflatable mickey on the front door during the night

I'd settle for the €25.  €25 > nothing.  The time you spend arguing is time lost earning money.
