I did myself call the Disability Toll Exemption Scheme on 1800 11 55 00 to get it clarified last Friday, but was put on hold and I requested a call back, which has not happened yet, when it does I will share the information.

The answer is in the title DISABLED DRIVERS not passengers .
What if a person has purchased a "Vehicle modified fer disabled use" to transport his disabled spouse/relative/friend, do they not qualify ?

My original contribution Im sure that Crypmobiles are preregistered on the System and are certified to be modified for private use ,A taxi is a Commercial Vehicle for the purpose of the Toll .If taxis were toll free Bernard Scullion from the Flats ,Not Dommos Flats crosses over the East Link every day .It would be worth his while buying a Part worn Jock Crypmobile plating it up claim the tax writeoffs and free toll and sure he might even do a bit .

If you provide a service for a Family member or are a carer you PRE register the vehicle .Its really simple to understand .

I did get the call-back from the Disability Toll Exemption office earlier today from a very pleasant knowledgeable man,
his short answer to the question was No, so we thrashed it out very politely fer a few minutes with me making the case fer a WAT which is a vehicle modified fer disabled use, and also the case fer a spouse to have such a vehicle to transport their disabled spouse.
His answer was that the spouse would qualify even if they were to use the vehicle fer personal use without a disabled person on board, but not the WAT because it is a commercial vehicle and might not be doing disabled jobs all the time. He said that a WAT would be refused but they have a right to appeal the decision.

If we're commercial vehicles, why do we do the NCT instead of the CVRT
And the Phoenix Park bans commercial vehicles without a permit but we're allowed to drive in there without hindrance.

'Swings and Roundabouts', we also get the cheap road tax and are allowed use bus lanes.

The by laws never banned Carriages that charged for their service a taxi is just a carriage with an engine .The Commercial Vehicle thing was to stop 40 foots traveling or parking in the Park or every Icecream van turning up on a sunny day .Do they allow Dublin Rent a Bikes as they are Commercial vehicles they are involved in commerce of making money for the owners ?

vehicles who qualify for the Revenue Commissions Drivers and Passengers with Disabilities Tax Relief Scheme will be exempt from Toll charges.
I.E.
An able bodied person who has a spouse, parent or child who is disabled and has qualified for VRT exemption on the vehicle needed for the persons transport requirements . The toll exemption may only apply is the passenger is in the car (not sure) and blue badge parking most definitely requires the holder to be a passenger.

The vehicle should be part of the VRT exemption grant to qualify.
