I did one this morning.Fishamble St to the airport.
She was guaranteed €25.As she was a bit late for her plane,we went the port tunnel and it came to €34.
She can thank fn for the 9 quid discount,because I got paid in full.(in fact it doesn't mention what the quoted fare is on our screen).
While I'm on the subject,I got a bolt from the airport to O'Connell St.4 passengers and shite traffic.It came to 28.60 and the Spanish yoke with the app showed me that she had been quoted 24.
I didn't entertain herr for a second.

That's not too bad so VD. The discount is probably coming out of the technology fee so. I wonder what would happen if it was a cash job that was also lite. Or is it just card jobs that can be lite?

I fooking doubt it. They'll say you accepted the "lite" job so you accept the terms and conditions that go with that job. The only thing lite about the whole thing is your wages at the end of your shift.

If that's the case then nobody is goin accept a lite job ...hole ting don't make senses.....the mind boggles 

There's always plenty of donkeys out there willing to do their work. And as for we are entitled to the metered fare, don't you remember 8202020 with their 20% discount on EVERY job? And there was plenty of drivers willing to do it.

Have any of you noticed how many houses for sale in and around Jamses Hospital,Bulfin,Drimnagh,Crumlin .I was talking to a Girl on one of the Residence associations ,she was saying a lot of Nurses who bought houses are selling up and Going to Dubai or Canada or Australia .I would be weary of what the Apps are doing in the end it all comes out of what YOU earn .

I think this new 'promotion' could lead to a lot of potential trouble, even conflict.  If the app is charging, say, €15 and the meter is saying €20, the passenger will be happy enough the first time but eventually will start to think that taxi's have been ripping them off over the years.  Get someone who's naturally cranky and/or drunk, and you could end up in a boxing match.

And I don't see how the app can be accurate with the way the council has set up the road system around Dublin.  North strand/Fairview is a disaster, half the city is gonna shut down next week because of Biden and the ESB are warning of complete chaos over the next few years as they dig up every second road in Dublin to upgrade the electricity network.

I tink frankie also said thers a reason we all drive taxis an dont hav a real job ......but the apps hav replaced the radio ....an this generation want to order a taxi using ther phone ...no gettin away from the technology....the problem is its the only part of the taxi hobby / business  that's not regulated..an thats the fault of Leo an  the cabbage an ther ilk .....foreign multinationals come before the citizens an the community....evidence of that is all around us ...
