How is an Uber-style service illegal?
Because you need a PSV licence to operate fer hire or reward in Eire.

My point exactly. I've used Uber in the beautiful seaside resort town of Balbriggan on a couple of occasions when no Lynk or Bolt cars were available and the cars and drivers were fully licensed. I've used Uber in London and on the Costa Del Crime on more occasions and, again, all cars and drivers are fully licensed.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
