So you've a year left. I'd be all over that from now. I'd make it my mission to use all my spare time chasing it up. I'd email them, I'd phone them and I'd god damn arrive at their door kicking up stink about it. I'm not just saying that you should do it now, thus setting the playing field for me and others like me for next year but you could certainly get the ball rolling.

I'd be kicking off if I was you 90. I'd be getting onto them now and enquiring if my car will be due an extension and if so can I know BEFORE it goes out of date and I get rid of it. This time next year I'll be contacting them and wanting to know how some cars got extensions and others didn't.  Why did some drivers have to change cars whist others did not. I'd easily get another 5 years out of that car. 1 more year would give me more breathing space and I'd easily upscale with me next one. I want a camry and I'm God damn gonna get one.

Yeah, I will send them an email. See what happens. I will have to change the car in January to get the grant so they better not give an extension in March 2026.

It would be nice to know what they say. That way I can be prepared when I start doing their nuts in next year.

Grants close in December and don’t reopen until February.

When did they say that?

It's usually early January that you can apply for wheelchair grant.

.......  I want a camry and I'm God damn gonna get one.
Toyota stopped selling the Camry in Ireland in 2023 or 2024, there is a new version fer the US, but not sure it will be available here.
With the used car market being grossly over-priced since Covid/Brexit, I find it better value to go new with the full 10 year licence.

Shite, are you serious Ken? If I can't get a camry I'll get a Corolla. Really wanted a hybrid camry though.

I was just looking at corollas on done deal there Ken. They literally have hundreds of them. Fairly reasonably priced too. If I can't get a 5 year old camry next year I'll get a Corolla and we can be car brothers Ken.

You can still buy a used 2023/4 hybrid 2.0 Camry with a 6 or 7 year license when your due in 2027, it will probably cost about 5K more than a new Corrola though, the way things have gone in the used car market.

I should be able to manage around 30k Ken. I'll also be selling the prius. How much would a 10 year old ex taxi with around 250k km go for Ken? A grand, 2 grand, 3?

Of course you will be able to buy a 5 year old Camry in 2027, but it will cost you 5K more than a new Corrola and only have a 5 year taxi license.

I'v been watching the Corolla market a long time Horse and fer me the value is in a nua Corolla in 2027 at 35K and hoping that I can get 10K fer me 171 Avensis.

I'd love to be able to afford a brand new car Ken. I'll see where I stand next year but 30k would be about my limit.

A lot more than that, the 10 year old Prius is about 14K on carzone, obviousely knock a good bit off that fer it being ex- taxi.

Jasus! I'd be more than delighted to get 5k. It's a perfect car with absolutely nothing wrong with it.
