Never had a problem with punters from Darndale bar one runner - but that was a street hail and the fare was under €6, to be honest I didn't bat an eyelid!

On the subject of the Public Order Unit, to be honest I think they create more problems than they solve. In the case of Darndale the gangs of youths roaming the streets seem to get bigger when the POU is in town and I've noticed similar happen in other areas such a Kilbarrack. When they come into Swords at chucking out time it's like a red rag to a bull.

Six taxis broken into a couple of days ago in Lucan all in one night,
Most of the drivers were new Irish.
The drivers that were attacked were also New Irish.
Is there a campaign to target a certain group,
The scum would hardly know or care who the taxi owners were.
Or maybe the ID was up on the dash.

They wouldn't give a fuck where break ins are concerned... happened to me when I lived up above in Dublin, part of a spate of taxi break ins back then and we often hear of similar spates...

What drivers were attacked?

I'm on a WhatsApp group.
A driver had a knife held to his throat,
The driver managed to remove the knife from the scum during a scuffle,
But the scum grabbed his phone and leg it.
That attack on a taxi driver didn't even make it to the newspapers,

Where did that happen? Was the attacker an immigrant? Unusual for it not to picked up by the media, did he report it to An Garda Síochána?

I work there a lot myself, never any serious bother... car hit by a missile once or twice up by "the patch" but it'd take a braver man than me to get out and mention anyone or anything to the gangs of youths involved. You could ring the Gardai and they might send the Public Order Unit down in a few days time but that only turns into a game of cat and mouse while the gangs dodge them for the few hours they spend driving around.

rofl only hit by missiles one or twice  rofl

They love stoning taxis up there..... Fukin kip.... Napalm the dump and let them pay for it

We're talking over a very long period of time, Octy... I said once or twice because I only noticed a mark once but heard a bang twice as missiles hit the car. However, over the same period my car has been hit by missiles twice in Fairview, both launched from the pedestrian bridge and both leaving a mark, a significant dent on one occasion. I've also had a shopping trolley thrown at me from Shantalla bridge, destroying my front bumper but woulda been a lot worse if I was driving a little faster or if I didn't hit the brakes as quick/hard as I did. Other broadly similar incidents include my roof sign being smashed by a missile on Swords Rd, Santry (near the stadium), roof sign hit but not noticeably damaged by missile on Oscar Traynor Rd, Santry and a skilfully launched egg hitting my windscreen dead centre on Oscar Traynor Rd, Kilmore. Hence, statistically, Darndale isn't so bad with Santry being a lot more dangerous in my experience.

Nothing at all, just driving around minding my own business... the incidents do span three decades though, not regular occurrences by any stretch of the imagination.
