I had this gay young man in the cab last night when Freddie Mercury came on the radio blaring 'Thank God it's Christmas'. I suggested to the young man that Freddie was the Greatest Showman of all time and adding that M.J. was a close Second. He disagreed with me stating that he thought George Micheal was the best ever. It's pretty seldom that I argue with my customers but no way could George Micheal ever be fit to tie Freddie's shoelaces.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the Greatest Showman ever ?

Here is Freddie at his absolute best, Radio Ga Ga, Live Aid 1985. (4.49 minutes).

Ken I brought up this very topic 5 years and 7mothns ago over on rots site and my reply was the same as yours, in fact you even went as far as saying that his live aid bit was the best live performance ever.... by anyone..

Prince is up there.

But for a live act you can't beat AC/DC.

Indeed a great showman, I was at his Cork concert in 1988 (my ears are still ringing to this day !),
he played 'Dirty Diana' fer his encore and nearly blew the roof clean Off of Cork City !!

Freddie was a good singer and great but the band we'r absolutely shite......  .....
To answer that Octy, all 5 members of Queen all penned a number 1 hit, I doubt too many bands could boast that ?

OK, In moving along.

What is your favourite song of all time ?

Mine changes on a daily basis according to my mood, but the main one
that I keep coming back to is 'Will You' by Hazel O Connor;
