It's about 3 or 4 times more expensive to insure a new taxi driver compared to ten years ago.But earning potential has probably tripled so it's not as bad as it sounds.
Nah, it’s about twice, I paid 4,400 when I first started 13 years ago.
I earn roughly the same amount

Not quite what I meant...I'm earning the same as ten years ago but doing a third of the hours and half the mileage.I'm still on me Xmas break btw
.. I can't remember exactly but my insurance was 1800 for a new policy but at the time the lady in the brokerage took my commercial claim free courier policy into account. I also had 5 years named driving on my wife's motor. Dunno if it was legal but I wasn't moaning about it.

I dunno where your getting that figure from Vikkiz, I started in 2009 and drove a rental on fleet insurance fer the First 16 months, then I bought me own Joe in 2010 and the Taxi insurance quote (with full NCB on me private car fer 20 odd years) was about 1200Euro, which has since increased to 2K with still full NCB and Zero PP's.

In 2008 I paid 44003800(found the paperwork) for mine insurance as a noob,
In 2014 I paid 1000,
So noobs these days paying about twice what i paid, simplez

So your insurance hasn’t gone up or down too much in all your years where as my own has gone down about 35% but did drop to a loooooooowwww of 26% of what I initially paid
