Impossible to answer coola .....if yur trading it its possible to make money every day ...
if yur investing long term yu have to put yur money down as if yuv already lost it ....buffet an munger say its a con....others say its the future ...
At the moment cud be a great time to buy ...but only if the war ends ...thers no great depression ahead...or wer not all fried next yer by global warming  or an asteroid the size of a bus hitting new York....

@ Coola .Occi sumed it up perfectly .Why I bought Jasmy is really simple the Jap yen is possibly worthless Japans banks pay NO INTEREST to savers .Japanese people save lots of their money but the Big Japanese Corporations keep their money off shore in international Government Bonds and Dollars .Japans Government know all of this and are going to be one of the First major economies to regulate Crypto .In the hope that they  begins to encourage the Big Corporations to adapt to Cryptocurrenceie and they can then tax the transactions ,investors will make a little profit and that too will be taxed .Crypto in Japan will get every assistance from the Government in legislation and adaption it needs to .


  As I have explained to Occi and Others Racism/Nationalism is rife in Japan Go to Google Images of People in Japan and you will not see too many foreigners in Japan .It is a Very outward looking Country but also very insular .Crypto Currencies like Bitcoin or Etherium are safe havens although they are priced in Dollars that is how they are valued today but should any great world event take place involving the USA who is going to want to trade Dollars or £ or Yen .or Rouble  if the Governments or Banks backing those Currencies look in Peril .Crypto Currencies and I do not know which ones are the Hedge against the present banking systems ,

Here is a Scenario that is realistic but ignored by everybody .It has not rained in parts of California in over ten years now it is torrential rain and snow .The Ground around the San Andreas Fault is baked hard preventing any sort on movement .What effect will all the rain and melting snow have on the fault ? Look at the Athlantic side of the Ocean multi quakes in Turkey and Syria upwards of 50,000 people dead .Imagine if the USA was to be struck by a major Natural Disaster what would happen to the Dollar and other World Currencies and Stocks and Shares .Crypto Currencies do not make up even one tenth of one percent of the Worlds Currencies yet already the Banks and Governments are worried by them .They are the future just an Insurance policy against Bank or Currency failure .

Think back to Northren Rock or Anglo or Leahman Brothers even BOI or AIB there were a few Days when it looked like our whole Banking System was about to come tumbling down .I dont have much money I gave it to Arthur or Paddy or Henry Ford or Dublin Corporation or Tesco to help me live .I have a few Grand tied up in Crypto and I hope in 3 years when I need a replacement motor I will have enough to buy a decent part worn or even new wheels .We trade in Hope not Certainty .If I had 5k in a bank account getting 3% interest in five years its buying power would with inflation be about 4500 .So I would be losing buying power .My hope is Crypto especially in Japan takes off and there are no major World Events to disrupt what we know as normal life but looking at the Yanks kicking China I fear we might be heading into a Cold War and a Trade War .Coola Crypto Currency is really a Political idiology that says that young people dont trust banks or Governments about 20% of young Europeans today dabble in Crypto it could be a Ponzt Scheme or it could be the future of Money .I really Dont know but I am willing to play .

Here is another Scenario .You log on to your computer ,Use Google visit websites listen to music play games .How do the Content developers get paid how do they monetize their work ?Bands get a tiny bit of a cent from Spotify if you download or listen to their tunes .Spottify then sell adds or direct you to promoted songs and they get paid to advertise .Then they deduct the outgoings Costs from the Advertising revenues to make profit .But thats the Same model for every Web site .Peoples time is to scarce to be reading adds for a box of spanners or drills just because they You tubed how to free a rusty bolt .In a few years not many every website you visit will charge you possibly only a fraction of a penny to visit that way they can monatize their work .You are looking for a week in Spain you visit twenty different sites but you only chose from one the other 19 have gotten nothing for sharing their information .Crypto Currencies are the only ones that can be sub divided into thousands of a penny or cent .So like your phone bill or Tv bill you will have a Computer bill and you will be able to deposit some version of Crypto into your account .Eir are now charging for an Email account Google and Microsoft will follow with pay per click .The only people making money direct from the internet are the companies selling internet connectivity like Virgin or Verizon .Its all connected .

This is already happening some newspapers you can pay per article to read .Why buy the whole paper if you have no interest in the Sports ot TV sections .Pay per read just like pay per view Tv .You didnt think the Internet was always going to be free ?
