All these new entrants into the Irish taxi system, almost identical in correlation to the amount of divorces in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia and newly single Pakistani gentlemen on Tinder.

Seems to suggest things are picking up as the economy moves towards the new normal. I gather the weekend was extremely busy up above in Dublin.

Grant me hole. I had a plate at the door for suitability at end of February. Then the grant came out and I cancelled and reapplied for the WAV  grant/plate. As of today I am still waiting for the grant payment to arrive. Complete pain in the hole. I have it spent 4 times over. Probably worse off now. If it was non Covid I would have lost me hole never mind having a pain in it.

Seemingly not Van D, it's not good sense economically, a part worn 5-y-old motor might save ya 50 a week as compared to going New.
Personally I would have loved to have gone New last year, but they stopped making the Avensis car I love in 2018, unlikely now that I'm too old that I will ever go New again (in 2027), most likely the New car would see me well out !

If'n it's your Dream to go New Van D ? Then Go Fer It !

What's the NTA's end of life for a WAT....15yrs?

If you're comfortable paying x amount for 5yrs VD,you could then after those 5yrs continue to put aside an equivalent amount to fund your next WAT with hopefully no/small very managable repayments.

The regulations were drafted to attract UK imports. In the UK disabled drivers can buy cars VAT free so there's usually ample supply of decent quality low mileage imports. I bought a new car back in 2004, I wouldn't do it again... after a month or so the novelty wears off and it's just another workhorse.
