Laytown Strand Races - Celebrating 150 Years

Nice book by John Kirwan and Fiona Ahern, picked up an autographed copy myself yesterday for a score at the course. Good addition to the bookcase/shelf for anyone interested in racing or the locality's history.

Unfortunately not. I had two winners out of five bets leaving me about 50 up after the penultimate race so I had 40 on My Good Brother in the unlucky last... despite steering my actual brother towards the winner, noting that it (Tyrconnell) was the only runner with any kind of support in the market against the well fancied favourite... so taking my losing placepot, pick 6 and Jackpot bets into account I finished about a tenner behind. Still, a good day out was had by all. Loadsa Brits (English and Scots) about, even more than usual.

Had 40 on that at 11/8. The connections got a quick double in the next, left that one alone 'cos it opened on course at 4/5 and drifted to 11/10 having been a solid 4/7 shot in the early market... maybe a bitta desperation among the on course bookies but the chances of a woman riding two winners in a row had to be taken into account.

Hayley Turner did that too...Jamie Spencer and Ryan Moore.

No idea. Don't watch TV really except Netflix. I know Emma caught her on her knees at one stage and Jamie was perplexed at her outrage.
